Ive been going through my "horror-register" of which things that freightens (makes me scared) the most in PC-games. And i keep ending up at F.E.A.R.´s character Alma. The little girl. She scared the crap out of me several times. www.theborggaming.planet-multiplayer.de/Pictures6/fear_alma.jpgThen a came to think, what would make this game (KF) even more scary? Kids! Zombie kids! It would not only add some variations to the gameplay, it would also make the game more realistic. Its most unlikely that the outbreak just affected the adults of the living. Imagine the picture of a little girl standing with a head-less, bloody teddy bear in her arms and looking your way with gaping black holes were the eyes should be. Think about it. Maybe in the next update?

Well, it's an idea... a smaller creature would be good, but before anyone attacks you, they aren't zombies anymore, they are more of a government experiment... so it wasn't an 'outbreak', per se... so the government making super soldiers out of children might be... wait, what am I saying, it's the government... yeah, there might be some kids

Well I didn´t play F.E.A.R., yet, mostly because of my compute being unable to handle it. And I don´t want to be a spoilsport about this, but ... you know what this big drawback about zombie kids is?
You get to beat around zombie-kids with a pipe, splatter them around with a shotgun, throw grenades into a pulk of them .... You know what I mean ?
And I think the really scary part is already taken by the stalker. They´re small, too, and even partly invisible.

I think we got enough creatures already, i'd rather see the Scrake functional.

And yes, its most likely the goverment could have been experimenting with kids. The possibility is there. Im glad you see the point, because even though there are so many types of monsters, it could be refresing to try out something new that nobody (exept F.E.A.R.) has dared to do. Putting kids in a crucial part of the game.

No you moron, read what hes saying; "they aren't zombies anymore, they are more of a government experiment... so it wasn't an 'outbreak', per se... so the government making super soldiers".
And how is it Crucial?

AAhhh... Not little girls... Why does every movie thats trying to be scary put little girls that sing in? It's not scary to me, and after the first 100 movies of little girls singing to you, you just wanna punch them in the face or what I do, turn it off. Things can be scary without little girls.

And how is it Crucial? I know its not an outbreak and i excused that already. How its crucial? By saying: Putting kids in a crucial part of the game, i mean in a place where they would actually have an effect/impact and add something to the gameplay. I think F.E.A.R. would have been rather unpleasant without the twist of the little girl (Alma).

U mean its too unethical to bring kids into the game? Or waht? Well ... yeah. I mean sure, if you stop to think about the whole thing in general you shouldn´t be killing ANY of those creatures. And soon we´d be shooting flowers at them, I know. But I couldn´t shoot at kids. If there were some horror kids implented into KF that would run after you and eat your kindeys, I´d probably end up running away from them, hoping they´d run into a wall and die.

Things can be scary without little girls. ´Course its not only girls but "all" kinds of kids. I just took the girl out of F.E.A.R. because it scared me shitless. Ofcourse other games have kids. Doom III for example had the Cherub. A twist of demon, machine and...a baby body. Not to favorise Doom III, but the idea is quite interesting.

It just to make the game more real-like. Except for the whole London-barely-exists-anymore-theme. Just to implement every possible outcome of the experiments. Its not unlikely they tested kids too.

Not that i have any sadistic urge to inflict pain on underage girls (yeah right). It´s just the backstory running in your head the few seconds before the first wave starts, that the goverment did horrible experiments on all kinds of persons. Whit kids implemented, it just underlines what twisted experiment´s been going on ahead to the point you have reached now.
