Fraser, it's not the same learning level. It's a lot more advanced. There is a difference between adding boxes around the place and texturing them to make walls/floors/ceilings and making a 3D model of poo.....

Not at all. Imagine it as connecting the dots, except you can either place the dots yourself, or use default objects and modify them and move them around to create different shapes.

I tried to create (or edit a human model), suffice to say, just doing the actual muzzle (Sp? wolf face) was quite difficult.
I also tried to create a model to be used as a hover tank in Total Annihilation.
"There is a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path" is very relevant here.

No offense but if you can do it so can i, Its just gonna take shit loads of time to learn i relies its gonna be harder then mapping but this seems like a opportunity i cant miss out i want to make custom meshes any way so this will help me out on that ill start looking for tutorials next week or something, Btw does any one know the easiest out of maya and the over one i forgot the name.

www.autodesk.comYou may find Maya and 3D max there. Should be a link to a trial (at least I know there is for Maya) to see if you like it.

Or get your (legit?) copy of ut2004 and install the free version of maya from there.

Completely off-topic, but what was your handle when you played/modded for TA? Just curious. And, in all honesty, I am certain a goo monster is harder to model than a human being, specially because it is more difficult to keep it from looking silly as it moves around.

I think the clots were speed grown in the vats.... Perhaps it's what makes them mad/dumb. a mental age of 2.
I dislike the way lax parents let their kids buy any game (or do it for them). I have really up tight parents, so it's hard to play games like this, but it doesn't affect me. It doesn't affect anyone I know. In fact, IMO you would have to be unstable anyway for it to 'make' you do anything (as the lawyers would have it. brainwashing etc).
Personaly, I don't find 3d modelling hard. Just Booooring. It is also possible to model in a clay type fashion. Start with a sphere or cube w/ many vertices, go from there. It's not ideal for every situation though. Plus, there's NURBS modelling, if anyone knows that.

that there is nurbin'.
And my parents are laid back. They trust my judgement and don't care what I play, unless it's like some porn game, but other then that, they don't care. They hear the F-Word booming from my room all the time from games/movies and they just don't bother, lol.

Modeling is a gigantic pain in the ass.
I've tried modeling on many occasions, and came up with some... less-than-amateur stuff, guns, lamps, drawers, televions, etc- all cubed stuff.
It's really hard..
