Hmm... I'm thinking of the train assault map from ut99 would be cool, just make it dark and creepy. Make fog extra heavy so you can't see far, make tree's and such movers so they wiz past the train fast, and make the ground texture panning... Some parts of the train on fire... A volume so that when your on top of the train and your walking towards the front, you walk slow from the wind... BRILLIANT! If no one else is gunna take it, I might.

This is kinda what I had in mind...
5 cars, from on top, car to the right that is unreachable... roof caved in, zombies spawn inside and crawl up and out.
Dining car, Private Cabins, Regular seating, Lounge Car, Observation/Domecar

The regular seating could be like a normal train, just rows of seats, maybe hide an item spawn in there somewhere. And bodies. This would probably be the entry car, maybe through a hatch on the ceiling. Specs can spawn from behind.
Lounge would have big windows on the sides and large couch like seating, one end should be a bar.
The dome has seating on either end, but splits in the middle to an upstairs with an observation bubble... could be broken with a strut to allow people to climb outside. Downstairs is another lounge-like seating area. Maybe even allows access to an under-platform service level... smaller specimins could get in, perhaps.. or just make it normal sized.
The Private car will have sleeping quarters along one side, and a through hallway along the other. The cabins could be individually welded shut, one or two might have some weapon/ammo spawns. Maybe even one could have a hole between it's neighbor, allowing an escape route.
Dining car will be full of tables, some broken for effect of course, bodies, chairs whatnot... could also swap this with a baggage car. The end of this is where the specs can enter after spawning. Possibly should be an exit to the roof somewhere here. Ladder? Maybe the observation car will be the only one needed.
Check Wikipedia for images of the different types. It would be cramped, but the idea would be circling them by going up and out or down and under. And yes, creative liberties could be taken very easily.
EDIT: Oh, and the X's are the spawn points. Sorry the drawing sucks. If you are interested, I could sketch out what I was thinking.

OK kyben, I'll email you the map when I get back from my hols. In the meantime, get on with your other maps. ;D uwasawaya:- I could send you the map to, if you want. It's not great. Probably only about 2hrs work. funilly enough I sketched out the layout to the map first as well. But then again, I always do that.

Simple, the DRF receives an SOS on a runaway train from civilians. They are dropped off via chopper (you can set it up to hover over the train and then leave like in London) You brought me up on a really good idea with that. For that I need some infos to make a good story, if you could tell me about 'em: - What's DRF standing for? - How's that corporation called, which created that Specimens? - Is that corporation still active? (agressive/passive/neutral to all that?) Thanks That will probably tell me, on how the train will look like, what I can add onto it, what not and why that train is driving to <where>. And that eventually will help me, on how to let the monsters spawn and where.

Biotics labs: You're sent in to prevent the remaining specimens from reaching topside, or die trying. West London: You're sent in to counter a large group of specimens from reaching a survivor enclave. Or die trying. Offices: You're chased inside and you're not alone, wait for extraction... or die trying. Manor: You crash landed near an old manor, you have to survive untill the etraction arrives. Or die trying.

Look, I just hate dumb shooting without a story - I want to know, why I'm shooting there.
I mean: You're on a driving train ~ Dun'no how you came there, you just kinda woke up. Some Seconds later you're attacked by zombies on a fucking driving train and you start to kick the shit out of them. After you killed 250+ of them you're starting to ask yourself: What the fuck is goin' on? where the hell do they all come from?
After you killed 600+ (7~8th wave dun'no) you're thinking: What the hell? We're driving for about 2 hours now, when do we stop and where are we driving to? - zombie convention?

We're driving for about 2 hours now, when do we stop and where are we driving to? - zombie convention? 1) It would be nice to know exactly why your there blowing the dead back to hell, taking the automated train to anoth D.R.F base? providing the train is fairly slow, it could be more realistic. 2) Like i say, the squad could be there taking the train to another destination or DRF base, if the train is slow, then it allows reason as to why the dead are able to keep attacking (especially stalkers n' running Gorefasts), the 'Where do they keep coming from' feeling is what we are supposed to have right? (Not being a smart-ass here) 3) All i can think of, and forgive me if this sounds dumber than a common ground squirrel : Nightmare train?

I just figure the train can be modeled to look really, really long. It'll explain how so many specimens are packed into it... but I gotta say, you have to give a little creative liscense... I mean, that damn Trader pretty much blows all logic out of the water. It's a game, just remember that. My motivation isn't the story, it's keeping my friends alive.

Sounds like an awesome idea, as long as the train is modelled to lookg really uber strong with panzer everything it SHOULD go slower then nomal trains aint it. Mayb have it stop in some places or something i dont know..
People please think of a story haha.
