Hi. I'm working my way thru the Mapping tut that comes with 2.0. When I try to test the map I'm getting an error and a message saying "error unable to locate KF Materials". Soz can't put up whole message as for some other reason I can only post here using my Mac and UeD is on my PC. I'm a Noob at KF but a fairly experienced mapper. I mean I've rebuilt and saved the map KF-Boxof doom. There are 6 player spawns and theres 4 Zombie Volumes and 4 Zombie Blocking Volumes. I'm guessing I've made a simple error. Are there other actors I need to put in the map before it will run.

I donĀ“t know that much about KF mapping, but did you remember to put in a trader and her respective volumes? KF-Tradervolume it is I think and I think you need some teleporters, too, to kick the players out of the trader room when time runs out.

No I've not added the Trader yet. I could be wrong but I wouldn't have thought it'd make any difference. It would seem from the tut that you can test the map before adding the Trader. I know in Tactical Ops (UeD 2 Mod) you have to add a Zone Info actor which hplds a lot of key info like Map Name, objectives, number of players etc before the map will run but I can't see any similarly titled actor here. Should add. I've also done a complete clean install and that made no odds either.

oh ok thanks. Thats gonna make map making a bit difficult.
Edit: Is this bug in version 1.0 as well ?

You're using the editor to make a map for the mod, so when you hit the "test map" button on the editor, it'll crash because it's trying to load the map for UT2004, not KF, you have to save the map, and manually load up KF and then the map.

Or just add all the KF stuff into your regular ut2004 folder as appropriate rather than their own, I mean...extract "static meshes" to the static meshes folder, not "KFMod20/Static Meshes". EDIT: But then you will get the wrong gametype, so change the default gametype... you know how to do that..

Ok thanx guys. This is probably a dumb question but how do I manually load up KF and then the map ? Does this mean load up thru the comunity panel in UT ? If so I've not seen a map list in there.

Save your map in UT2004\KFMod20\Maps. Then start KF as you do it when you want to play. Click on "create server", "select" Survival and choose your map. Then start the game (click on "Listen"). That's all. It worked for me too btw.

Lol. I don't doubt it but Andino's method seems a lot simpler. However. I noticed that my map "Roomofdoom" doesn't appear in the sever map rotation list. I'm guessing I have to add it to one of the files manually but which one please.
PS: I use the term map loosely as Roomofdoom is possibly the smallest map ever.

After starting KF click on "Create Server", select the gametype (Survival). When the maplist appears see the lower bottom of the screen and click on "modify Maplist" (or something like that). Then just add your new map to the right side, where all other maps should be listed (they are the active ones).
