I am learning to make maps for KF but when I set a player start and try to test it my player dies when the game starts. Why is this? I know I'm missing something but I just can't figure out what.

The usual list of Technical Support help:
Have you re-built your paths? Have you re-built geometry? Is your map within the "red and blue" lines in the 2d viewports? How high up is your playerstart? Too high and it won't work.

Right click the player spawn, hit "Align > Snap to Floor" that should fix it.

It is reasonably the same, well, to a normal mapper, it basically is, apart from the fact, no static meshes.

Yeah, like stuff like the wing cases on beetles are called elytra. And the ball bit of a ball and socket joint is a trochanter. And there are 1000+ species of crane fly in the northern hemisphere. And adult emperor moths can't feed.

Yeah, if you're comfortable in UEd2, then you should be right at home in UEd3. It's more or less the same with a bunch of tricks added to it and more texture effects.

I got a question. Those red and blue lines that kill you, can you move those? I kinda made my map too low, if I dig any lower for a basement or somethin, the player dies...

Yes you can.
Z-something in the Level Properties.

StallZ moves the blue line, I can't find anything to move the red one.

I just move the whole level....
Edit > Select All Actors.
Then just go in the side viewport, move it up to where you think is good, and re-build geometry.

No need to make such a big fuzz...
LevelProperties/ZoneInfo/KillZ (Is handled by the independent Zoneinfos as well.)
