I often change my background, but it's always a pic that I have done in photoshop. Like the one I'm using right now... (resized)

Having issues atm. VScan comes clean, malware scan comes clean, both of which being no surprise. Dont have nix installed just now so I cant tell if it's just the OS. Could just be stepping down from getting hot, or something could be getting ready to fail

Plankies background is awesome. Mine is the same as Blue's. I heard having a picture for the background slows your computer down alittle because the comp has to constantly render it in the back. I need every bit of FPS to run Oblivion on high detail.

I heard having a picture for the background slows your computer down alittle because the comp has to constantly render it in the back. I need every bit of FPS to run Oblivion on high detail. It really depends on the filesize. I always convert my backgrounds to .jpg, or .png for filesize(And resolution, which increases filesize). You will never notice a difference. Compared to bitmaps, which are usually over 1mb, .jpg only has to render 50-350kb every x Y. I say "Y" as a unit, because you can set your Hertz(Refresh Rate) at different levels. *The next part I am not to sure about* And, it could probably store itself inside your RAM or VRAM. Which would still increase speeds. So, I think you can afford to have a background EDIT: More taskbar space! Since I almost always have Winamp running, I decided to hide it from the taskbar, and only show in my system tray. EDIT 2: I am getting Vista soon. So...expect another desktop change

My background has a pretty clover on it, and a recycle bin. That's about it.
