Killing Floor has a new Gametype that i've been working on (to the chagrin of my companions) called "Feud" which will complement the basic "Survival" gametype that I'm sure you are all familiar with (though it has been seriously enhanced you will find with the full release)
Feud is simple straight - up deathmatch. No zombies, no gunlockers, no reduced movement speeds when you take damage. Just old-school free for all-ing in variants of the Killing Floor core maps, with weaponsets that are specific to each different map and will respawn automatically.
Kill or be Killed . It's my job to make that fun. And I'm glad to say , it already is turning into a pretty damn nice deatmatch (certainly as good as the Doom 3 deatmatch already, anyway)
So just another little perk to look forward to . Im sure most people will download Kiling FLoor for the Survival gametype because...it's a zombie mod after all and who doesn't like Coop ! but...for those of you who are in a rebellious mood, or who just like fragging your pals for a while in between fighting zombies alongside them, you now have that choice! ;D

Sounds sweet, but i would keep the reduced movement speed if u get killed, gives you more incentive not to be hit ;D

In practice, it sounds great doesnt it?
Unfortunately, in application it ends up being
.... Someone sprays me with a burst from a bullpup but I survive.
I am now moving at the speed of a snail , trying to get a gun pickup.
I am gunned down just before i get the gun by some guy who just respawned in front of me.
In other words? No Fun.
i had to make different versions of the weapons too. because some of them became unbalanced or annoying in Feud which worked fine against zombies...Deagle , Bullpup, Dualies, to name a few. The Shotguns remain more or less the same, instant death at point blank, and a threat in close range, but nothing to worry about at distance.
The problem became, having a weapon like the deagle which could down a fully healthy / armored player in like 2-3 bullets....all the way down a hallway...So that makes things like the shotgun obsolete!
So i had to reduce the damages and fire rate etc on some of these gun variants, but it should all work out

Sounds like a fun thing to do when you need a break from killing hordes of zombies. And it's nice beeing able to enjoy those pretty maps in different ways. Good stuff! I can hardly wait to try out this game online, mainly for the coop of course. EDIT: Btw, i think it's good that the reduced speed is removed. When you actually survive a hit in Red Orchestra, it's frustrating to have such slim chances of finding cover in time imo.
