It's a mod, so maybe the anti-cheat programs got confused. Unless he does indeed cheat.

Funny, bc it's checking the same master server wether you're browsing kf or vanilla dm. Check the GUID in KF. It should match reg 2k4, if it doesnt there's nothing you can do. GUID's are generated from the cdkey+hash. Only suggestion, nuke KFMod20, read the install guide, reinstall KF2.0.

Well we did use Teamspeak (only thing we had in the background) and I doubt that is classed as a "Bot" lol So far we have tried: (1) Reinstalling. =Still happens= (2) Checked server logs to check I hadnt banned as joke and forgot =Still happens= (3) Emailed UT2004 staff on the email it gave. =Waiting reply= So we are kinda annoyed at the min, but we will work it out one day (And we dont hack/cheat/use bots etc) EDIT: Atari have no idea what caused it. But we are testing to see if TS (Teamspeak) caused it, it does on some Mods. Atari have unbanned him.

Okay, even though he has been unbanned I still want to ask this question.
Did your friend or whoever it was mess with his ini settings or anything? I believe it's the kfmod20.ini file, atleast that's the one I messed with. But if he did then that should be the problem, it seems if you mess with that like take something out and save it and then run the game it gives an 'Invalid Key' message and won't let you start up. So ask him or whoever if they did that or not.

Erm I have a MAJOR problem here, my friend NooBiE has had the following message: !!BANNED!! Epic Games has blocked your CDKEY from online play. For more information, please email abuse@epicgames.com. Be sure to include the following information. 1. Your global id which can be found on the game tab in the settings menu. 2. Your current IP address. 3. The name at which you are trying to play under. It says this on KF 2.0 only (only just said today). It dosent say it on UT2004 game or Red Orchastra mod. For some reason I've been banned for no reason as well. I havn't even played online for over a year. I get the message when clicking on the community tab. Would connecting directly to the server's IP still work?

What? I didn't try anything, this just happened out of the blue. I'll send them an email about it.

ok, ler me rephrase that
By any chace did either of you connect/try connecting to the server (something)CDKey(something) when it was running a couple weeks ago?
It caught my attention when I saw it in the server list. Was running modified maps also, at least according to the mapname listed (KF-WestLondon_S or something). and in case the news article was confusing... Malicious harvesting of cd key hashes (hashes =/= cd keys) by servers can be used to spoof GUIDs . When Epic bans someone it is the GUID that is blacklisted since it cannot be changed unless you buy the game again/get a new cd key. Just be wary of suspicious servers.
