I was wondering if you will be able to beat back zombies with the shotgun or the baseball bat? What I mean is, will the weapons have a kinetic effect on the zombies without necessarily killing them?

Do you mean a melee attack? or do u simply mean pushing them backwards?

Yes.
We will be implementing knockback and hit reactions for the zombies.
Moreover, (and this works right now), if you are striking a zombie they will not be able to respond in most cases....So a series of knife slashes can keep even very dangerous zombies at bay. (Assuming its 1 v 1)
