Ok. Here is how to solve the problem where you have no crosshair.
1: Open the console by hitting the tilde key.
2: Type this in the console "togglescreenshotmode"
3: Hit enter.
4: Type "togglescreenshotmode" again in the console
5: Hit enter again and close the console
note: you must be playing the game when doing this, not from the menu
Viola! Problem solved. Happy Headshotting!

You obviously haven't played CS:S cause if you did you would know that it doesn't have patches since it is updated through Steam. Also, if there were some update that really did make the game easier, all players would have the same advantage thus making the difficulty exactly the same. Besides, it matters who you play against, some people are headshot whores while others are complete noobs. oh my. It seems like I'm getting all mad about this. haha. |

A patch is a patch wether it is via stream or a manual download.
It was better when it was still using the half life aiming system
since the new one has the same effect (on me) as a (weak) aimbot.
If you want to say "WTF R U TALKING HL? IT IS NT Rela3TD"
SOURCE is becouse it is on the source engine which was designed for half life, you can seek it up on wikipedia.
I rest my case
But anyway we are going off topic.. I can hardly remember what this topic was all about..
The point is if you don't care about not having a crosshair then why do you come up with topics like these? Most of us played the game and appreciated the fact it is x hairless.

Plankie: not hard he says, how wrong he is. Maybe for you its not hard... But if you always play with a crosshair in video games, and then suddenly switch over to a game that has no crosshairs at all times... its difficult. I had trouble shooting those dang barrels off the raised platforms in the training on KF 1.0 I literally used crouching, and trial and error until I finally had it just right... then i had to NOT move my mouse, but strafe to the left or the right to hit the remaining two barrels. Its hard to tell where the bullet is going, especially when this game is pretty dark. Yes, I did turn gamma up, but im not going to make it REALLY bright just for this kind of problem. Anyways, I think the player has a right to choose between crosshair or not, yet they dont allow that in this game by default =/ (you have to use these alternative methods just to get it.) I admit, its not the hardest thing in the world... im able to hit my targets, dont get me wrong.. its just that its hard to know where you are hitting the zombie until after you shoot and see where the blood splatter is coming from. I find headshots pretty hard, unless you use a gun like the winchester with the iron scope "right click" ability.

That's why you practice untill you can hit them in between the eyes without a crosshair, or iron sights. Infact, the iron sights are off. |
