I was think for an idea to have a sprint ablity, it allows you to run faster in controled bursts, but when you run low on health it also effects how fast you sprint and of coarse how much you have in your inventory + what weapon your using. But your little monster buddies can do the same, and catch up to you, why sprint? so people aren't restricted to slow movement and don't fell worried when a timmie comes knocking at there door.

Now whats that game...where you can sprint...for short times...Umm...Forgotten. Dark Messiah, thats it.
Meh, I don't know. The thing with that is it's possible for exploits to unfold. Since their speed increases, their jump height usually does too. Combine it with a Mario/Shotty jump and it would be a lot easier to get to places your not meant to.

Also you should jump slightly higher because of momentum

I dont think it's needed.
The general idea is that players are ALWAYS running at their fastest, and that as soon as they start picking up heavy gear, or take injuries, they have to slow down to a walk / slow jog.
I forsee a multitude of conflicts / balancing headaches, not to mention actually making the keybind, and GUI frontend for a feature like sprint. In the end, it's just not something that's required.
If you're a smart player who knows when to pick up / drop heavy inventory items and keep your health in the green, you can actually move at a serious speed.

I guess I think it would be interesting, however Alex does have a point - if you keep your health up and have a knife out you can sprint already.

I think if the speed wasn't so affected by everything else it'd be a good idea, but since it's so complicated as it is, sprinting might just make things more of a headache.
