I had a quick scan through the topics in this section, but im sorry if this has been discussed already. What about the possibility of some sort of infection system for KF? You know, if you get attacked enough or perhaps by a certain type of specimen you eventually turn into one of the horde yourself? As if the game wasnt tough enough, youd have to worry about an enemy in your own ranks aswell. No matter how good your cover, boltholes, and welding...you could lock yourself in with something just as horrible. Mwuahahah. Etc. Not sure how it would work, but thats what these boards are for i guess .

The Specimens are not created by an infection. They are technically clones. So, No, The chance being bitten by one turns you into one of them is minimal Just a Slow, Painful, Bloody, Awful death.

Genesis were cool untill Peter Gabriel left. But fair enough about the infection stuff, a slow agonising demise will just have to do. Or in the case of those huge metal-clad beasties - a quick, surprising, change of trousers.

A bit like going on a Halo 3 server named "Clan [n00b] recruiting!" and putting your headphones on loudest possible volume.

The Specimens say "Join us" in the game, so my impression is that they at least think they can spread their 'disease' - and we are healing with a med-syringe, obvious evidence of a biological or genetic threat. Perhaps the med-syringe is actually a regeneration syrum developed by Horzine? In which case the specimens probably can regenerate after death revealing how a limited number of specimens can continue to cause so much damage.

How about simple, plain, old bleeding? You get hit, you have a chance to start bleeding. It has the same effect and together with the classes concept it would make a little bit sense. You know, having a medic around who´s got bandages and stuff.
