both doesn't include all three of us yes modeling is easy..... but to actually make something amazing is not. I think I am going to learn to texture and animate soon. I was talking to you two, but to be honest I don't think Dealman is all that good either. But again that's my opinion, just like my opinion on what something 'amazing' is.

Actually, I"m not sure if you know about game design industry. There's a difference between 3D Artist and 3D Modeller a good 3d modeller = someone who can model accurately according to the given concept art ( usually sketched or digital illustration ). You don't need to be very artistically inclined to be a 3d modeller. It has become more or less an engineer job. a good 3d artist = someone who's an entire package. Can model and create ideas and concept. And anyway about that model. It doesn't look that nice because it wasn't meant for close-up . It's a very low poly ( about 100-200 poly ) , and yes I"m not good in texturing. Here are some better models. But take note these are also very low poly ( none of these model exceed 400 poly )

those models are cool i guess, but still seem relatively low poly/detailed(blockish looking). Maybe if i could see them better..... I dont think we need to prove our selves here, this thread is asking for the help of a coder not a 3d artist. So a guy who just started modelling not too long ago himself comes forward and has a go at people in a similar situation ? Awww abyx you're better than this ;D Hey, I didn't insult them, I'm just stating they need improvement; I'm not about to make a huge list of things to fix, I.E. Learn how to smooth and that glock wouldn't be so bad. Besides, I didn't just start modeling, I've been modeling for a firm...year? It's not my fault I seemed to get an unnaturally good grip on the program within a few uses and used my 1337 K'nex skills to make things that go boom. >: ) I have been modeling for about two years..... have only made weapons (just toying around when bored, nothing serious) organic objects..... seem to hard. Once you learn how to master a program its not that hard to actually make something, im still learning things about Wings3D(my free modeling program)

Organic is a pain in the ass. At least for me, but then again, I'm not really any use when it comes to modeling in general. I like making things move instead

You're more anti-confedident than I am. If you really want to learn, you have to want to do it for the fun of doing it, not to help out. I could learn how to model better if I enjoyed it more, but in all honesty it bothers me after an hour or so and I give up on it, so I won't learn much that way, nor do I care to. If you decide on what you enjoy, I'll give you a hand and make sure you're on the right track to learn it.

I've got experience making weapons, vehicles, & maps for UT2004. I also have experience modeling. I'm still learning UV mapping but that just takes tons of practice to get really good at. Heres a couple weapon models I've made. (this image is animated) Heres some player models I've re-textured: I've played Killing Floor and its pretty sweet except for the player speed. I know if I was being chased by hordes of zombies I wouldn't be walking around like I got a corn cob up my butt sideways! I'd be getting the F- outta there fast!

I can UV map, officially as of today. I did another smaller project which was successful so I thought I'd try something larger. The Sat Dish is in situ in my latest map-in-progress, which will also have music, I'm proud to say, courtesy of The Maestro, MadMax. The Sat Dish's seams are where they should be. It all fits -- no problem. The dish didn't take long, but the artwork -- hunting around for metallic looking textures, rusts and all that to make it look pretty took muuuch longer. There are vents at the rear -- photo textures . Most of the dish is painted with photo metals. The upper dishes also have photo patterns underneath. Orginally in the map-in-progress I had a halfarsed dish and couldn't find anything in unreal meshes that I liked, so I made it a project. I know it's only a bloody sat dish, but it's a UVd dish
