Yes, but I'm not the best in the world.

Give me an assignment of something to model and unwrap. And give me an deadline. And I'll do my best.

frozenfire, Pretty good weapon model... a little blocky but pretty good. Also it could use a way better texture. Heres a pistol i finished a while ago.... if any one wants it let me know (not textured, 488 polys, 620 vertices)

No offense guys, IMO, you both really need a lot of improvement.
But..unfortunately that's just me who thinks that at the moment.

So a guy who just started modelling not too long ago himself comes forward and has a go at people in a similar situation ?
Awww abyx you're better than this ;D
@ the others It's fine that you guys can model , but KF doesn't need that. I'm really only interested in coders.

Whats the learning curve like? I dont have time but im curious If you've done anything in 3d space before, and if you're famliiar with your X,Y,Z coordinate systems, and vertices (hell, high school maths stuff ) you shouldn't find it a challenge! The bigger challenge is building the model in an optimized way, and high poly models can be harder , but that's just because you've got more to cope with - so more vert pushing grunt work. All in all though - modelling is the simplest pursuit pertinent to modding, and its why almost everyone and their granny can do it My curve was abit steeper than most because I am entirely self taught, and I didn't bother reading or following any tutorials so it took me a while to figure out that I was making shit models a year of relaxed training, max. If you have some form of education to assist you.

Awww abyx you're better than this ;D Hey, I didn't insult them, I'm just stating they need improvement; I'm not about to make a huge list of things to fix, I.E. Learn how to smooth and that glock wouldn't be so bad. Besides, I didn't just start modeling, I've been modeling for a firm...year? It's not my fault I seemed to get an unnaturally good grip on the program within a few uses and used my 1337 K'nex skills to make things that go boom. >: )

People was one thing I never made with k'nex. >: (
I tried organics once before with my previous mod, in fact a new set of arms they just put in game was revised and re-worked by me; point is I didn't particularly enjoy it and I'd rather get a grip on normal maps first as I can't get the fuckers to work.
Then again I need to use another tutorial so it's my fault in the first place.
And texturing, that too.

No offense guys, IMO, you both really need a lot of improvement. But..unfortunately that's just me who thinks that at the moment. both doesn't include all three of us yes modeling is easy..... but to actually make something amazing is not. I think I am going to learn to texture and animate soon.

I think I am going to learn to texture and animate soon. Exactly! the creation of something "amazing" like you say is the application of a variety of skills. Firstly you need the basic technical know how to construct a mesh, and secondly you need a good eye, attention to detail, respect for hierarchy and visual balance in the form you're trying to create, and if we get into textures we need to know about things like color theory I guess it benefits anyone who wants to be more than just a "technician of 3d" but an "artist" to take some classes in design, drawing, painting, or all of the above. I know i did, and it helps
