Yes i know Alex told us not to suggest new zombies. But anyway i still really wanted to trie.
Me and another un named XPC member (name not here cause of fear of Alex's wrath), where thinking. Wouldn't it be awesome to have some kind of boss monster after wave 15?

Just trie and imagine how awesome it would be, yes i am aware that fleshpounds represent the current 'boss' monsters in game. But yea, i still think it is a awesome idea.

The thing about boss monsters is you want him to be scary, crazy and huge. But you can't have him big or he won't fit in any of the maps. My idea of a boss could look like what zombiebutcher wrote, but how he acts is: You can't kill him with bullets. His health slowly goes down over time, shooting him just slows him down or knocks him down so you have time to run. He's extremely fast and can kill you in maybe 3 or 4 hits, and even better, when he hits you, you go flying. So basicly you run like hell, weld doors and shoot at him to slow him down. And maybe every once and awhile afew clots spawn to make it even more frantic. It would just be different than the normal 'shoot the crap out of it till its dead' method.

I don't really like the idea of a "Boss zombie" of sorts, as it wouldn't require much 'teamwork'.. It'd literally be a game of cat and mouse, as your team would just follow it/run away from it while shooting at it's slow ass. To me, the best boss would just be like it is: a huge wave of zeds up the ass. That, or human enemies. Like a merc squad or somethin'. Things that could shoot you. That's pretty much the most dangerous it could get, I think..

That's an excellent point, though. I'm sure a lot of players would prefer to have just a normal fleshpound-rape. Maybe the boss wave could be added as a mutator? That way everybody's happy.

Add some Silent Hill ideas to the monster, such as a dead pink bunny rabbit, with two heads! And then it might be scary enough.

first of all: i am happy to see zombie butcher making a suggestion here are my thouhgts. size is a problem indeed so lets try to make it fleshpound size max. first idea is a long, fat worm or centepide. he will fit throug doors and all. kill him classic style, means shoot him until his dead. second (favorite) idea a complete invisible fleshpound-tall stalker with teleporting ability. becomes visible while attacking. teleports away when injured. you have to LISTEN carefully for his ambient and footsteps. attacks in irregular pattern in time and location. you get the predator-feeling for sure. "did you see it?" no but we shot at it!" kill him classic style, means shoot him until his dead.

Maybe a different boss for each individual map? Say for sewers there would be a huge wormlike creature, while in offices you'd have...specimen...Lumberg...or something. He'd attack by throwing TPS reports at you.
...So yeh, I'm not the best at thinking up monster concepts. Still, I suppose it would be a lot more difficult, and would suck for people who make custom maps.

It would be way to much work to have a boss for every map (Tho extremely awesome!). But bosses dont neccesary have to be huge, tho big bosses are cool. I stand by Abyxs half spider half human with claws idea. Meh, hope Alex posts his opinion here soon.

P.S. It was me who came up with that monster idea.
If you think about it, it'd be perfect for any map.
The long arms have RANGE, ALOT of it so you can't just rush it with shottys or else it's gonna test it's body shredding ability. It'd be kind've short but maybe the size of a fleshpound laying down, and the metal would just be neat.
These are cool and all, but I don't think Alex would go for this; as he'd have to model it, UV it, rig it, skin it, animate it, balance it, code it and import it.
Which is a pain i the ass, and I sure as hell can't model organics.

I liked the suggestions ^, death by swollowing worm..eugh.
I was thinking, maybe a (Squad of) military-grade fleshpound or clot?
Somthing like light/heavy metal armour, ranged weapon maybe, rocket launcher, Heavy machine gun, so that you no have to dodg and duck raid fire as well as advoiding melee, it might suit the military specimen theme, think nemesis from Resident evil...

That was just my opinion, i was talking about a boss, or a single elite squad of monsters that would act as the 'boss', it may not be as huge or as great looking as other ideas, but somthing i guess Horzine-before being overrun-would have 'built' as the next stage?
