Well ive played some more games, really enjoying this mod. A few things bug me about some aspects though...
First off welding, a tactic ive employed and others is standing next to a dorr and holding down the fire button to constantly reweld the door. Now im not in any way suggesting getting rid of welding because its a great gameplay aspect however what about this.
A door is not secure until a weld reaches 100%. So zombies could break it very easily if it was at <100%.
A door cannot be rewelded after its reached 100% unless it goes back down to 0% again (broken or totally unwelded).
Make the doors 300% stronger than they are right now to compensate for the fact you cant repair them mid fight.
So what would the result be ? Well a player could weld up a door to 100% then he has to either leave it for the zombies to destroy or totally unweld it. If a zombie started attacking the door its welding % would not decrease, instead only its health decreases until its opened.
I think this is an important feature that needs to be addressed because ive seen 50% of the zombies in a level held at 1 of 2 doors by 1 player while another 5 players massacre the zombies at the other door. They can then outflank and annihilate the other trapped zombies.
Also to further make up for the fact you cannot reweld during battle i had an idea for increasing a doors health and for allowing mid battle 'upgrades' to a door.
How about allowing players to purchase wooden planks or steel strips to stick across a door and provide more strength. The stats are as follows:
Wood: Cost $100, Weight 1, Increases door health by 50%
Steel: Cost $200, Weight 2, Increases door health by 100%
You could purchase them from the equipment section of the shop as there isnt exactly much in there yet.
The way i see it this would only require some simple logic changes to the code for the doors and wouldnt require any reworking of the ai. It would also mean that all players can defend the open doors rather than been stuck endlessly welding and also means that it only buys a much shorter amount of time.
p.s. love the mod
