Read 'The Walking Dead'!

The Walking Dead is an ongoing comic book about (you guessed it) zombies. But it's not so much about the undead themselves as it is about the people who try to cope with the situations they find themselves in. It's very much character driven, with the zombie infection serving as a backdrop to the main story.

If you're at all interested in an ongoing zombie story that's an excellent read, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Amazon.com has the first couple of pages from the first issue available to read here:

It's not the best representation of the story and yes, it starts with the "wake up in a hospital" scenario, but it's completely original beyond that. If you like it, I recommend ordering the TPBs from Amazon.
