Sorry to double post, but I've finished the new (and probably final as far as KF 1.0 is concerned) version of Wasteyard. It has all the features mentioned above (I chose chainsaw chaos as the BGM BTW), and I've also made the collapsed staircase easier to climb, by making it less collapsed. General accesibility around the map has been improved, along with bot pathing and making some bits look a bit nicer. EDIT: I noticed some problems with the previous version to download, and so I fixed it and changed some more things. So a new download is now availiable. Download here: www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=2888065 (ver 2.2) EDIT: V2.2 features: more zombie volumes, zoning for performance, fixed more areas where you can get stuck. Screenshots: later maybe. nothing special though. Have fun! Also, it would be nice if someone could host this on a server at some point, so I could test it with humans and see if any problems arise. Feedback would be welcome. ;D

Yep, I was thinking about that too... but I would have to contact the server administrator or something, and I don't know who that is. Plus it'd sound kind of big headed me to ask them IMO. But if someone else were to... That would make me happy . Don't forget to say thanks to them for hosting a server for KF for all this time though. @ alex, that raises an interesting question, what would the compatibility between existing maps and 2.0 be? Will the textures be the same, or will they have been replaced or only updated?

In reply : Unfortunately, The vast majority of textures and staticmeshes have been completely overwritten. Which means there will be no compatibility between 2.0 and 1.0 maps. They will need to be remade for 2.0

Damn. Oh well, at lest I can port the BSP and lights. (maybe emitters also?).
Oh yes, and I sent an email to the head of the belching toad clan, so hopefully the map will get put on their server. ;D

You can port BSP, lights, actors anything But the meshes / textures will not look like you remembered, that's all.

Can't you package the textures/meshes in the myLevel package? That way they would at least look the same, but have 2.0 gameplay in them. With a bit of changing to make it compatible.
