evertime i go to play KF, the 3 or 4 servers that ar up are vacant, where is everybody?

The problem is that killing floor multiplayer is damn near impossible if you're by your lonesome. I know I personally prefer joining servers that already have people in them, as opposed to joining a fresh one. There are a few reasons for this...firstly it isn't any fun to log on and already have lost the match due to server lag. Even if you are able to log on fast enough, you've still got 22 or so zombies on the first wave you've gotta deal with, and not enough ammo to do so...the only maps that are really soloable(at least in my opinion)are manor, bioticslab, and london. I guess what I'm trying to say is that nobody wants to be the first one to show up to a party .

I've fixed that little issue, (where you would join a server and be dead before you were even "in" the game)
The consequence is that there will now be a "wait to deploy" time before a round can start which requires at least ONE other player than yourself.

I normally join empty servers as long as the ping is good. It normally takes between 2-10 minutes for others to join.....so I just brush up on my run and jump skills.

The way i fixed it in unreal was calling a replicated function on the player from postlogin, that in turn called a function on the server again, and only then spawn the player. That way you're sure he's finished loading everything. Worked like a charm.

i wait for the patch and play singleplayer so long. its not much fun to play with all that bugs.

took u long enough yet im not sure it wise to do that yet fuck it works so use it it may cause glitches because its only UT2004 skins and ones for them not mods, thats why people complain on RO of german skins having no arms animated or something yet they do work... its the pre cache skins that is causing the death before u start, with it on u notice a quick freeze when u start the game and only a few ambient sounds playing.
