I've been following this mod for about 3 months now, waiting to get my hands on a copy of the new release. I check in a few days ago, realize it's out and quickly jump on the chance to download KF. Long story short, 3 days later on a 56k connection I've finally got the sucker. I spend about half an hour fucking with a faulty installer to get this thing to play and when it finally loads I'm greeted with a cutscene, albeit good, by no means a laudable graphical achievement. But hey, I say, They'll surely make up for it with some killer gameplay. After watching it THREE TIMES because I couldn't skip it and the damn thing restarted everytime I went to the menu I'm able to move around. The aim system needs work. The zombies look like something out of the fucking stoneage when they decide to come at you and the environments are well placed but drab. I'm usually the one to say hey, pep up, it'll get better but damn. The original resident evil, nearly 10 years later is a better survival horror experience.
There's potential here, I just haven't found the fun yet.

Well, KF was originally planned to be a ONLINE-MULTIPLAYER GAME, the singleplayer is just a little bonus for those who are interested to know "what is going on". I did finish the SP first, mostly 'cos I had problems with servers, and eventho' it did look great, it was clear that game was meant to be played online with some "friends" along your side.
Resident evil & few other games may be better story/place/character/something-vise, but that's mostly 'cos they were created to be "movie-like" singleplayer-games. So I'd suggest you to somehow try the multiplayer and actually play as a team with some other players. I promise it will be good.

I'd say you're just pissed cause you got a 56k and everyone else has updated their connection. Heh

What a bunch of whiners. How come almost everyone expects retail-game quality ?! Either way, try the multiplayer. Yes it has its faults as well, but those will be mostly erradicated when the patch comes out.

feel free to code something that makes kf better ..and meche and skin and map...
:/ i undertand ur pissed off i had the same problem with another mod ( dare i say it .frag ops *bes sick*)
i think there should be speach in the single player ...make sure its decent.. and i realy hate the idea of wep lockers and the voices saying 5 4 3 2 1 or something ..in coming realy messes up the enviroment and atmosphere... ut2k4 hit noises are realy balls...

The singleplayer is lackluster, yes, but the multiplayer's a blast if you have the patience to deal with the bugs (as said before, most of the more annoying ones are fixed in the 1.01 patch). I think you're just bitter 'coz you have a 56k .

Jack I can understand your fustration, as you waited a long time to download. I think you have to understand that KF was always meant to be a MP game, I knew this also but was pleasantly surprised when a SP section was going to be made.
As for models and City, yes I too noticed that the Zombies look very close to everything else. They look almost the same as the demo in some ways. But its still fun and better than most Mods out there for Graphics and Zombies. lol
Locational damage would be nice, Iron sights for certain weapons also. Seperate Zombie skins that dont blend in so much with the surounding and Maybe a little less dark, as you cant appreciate the graphics because of the darkness, DOOM 3 had this issue also. Darker isnt always scarier.
Over all its a good mod that has some bugs and needs some refinement. Almost all most do, The best mods usually are the ones that are open to people instead of closed door until release, as many wait many years only to have bugs and issues.
By releasing new versions ever so often the player can give feedback so by the time the game is done, it will be 100% better than when it started. Its released now and patches are the way to change the game to improve its many good aspects and weaker ones.
Weapon lockers are a little difficult to do as the waves are coming in prretty fast to allow you time to get weapons and ammo. I feel the game should pause at the weapons lockers to allow time to choose what you want. Especially for new players that dont know what weapon is where.
Over all the game feels like a mod for people who ALREADY played the game to death. lol which is a problem that happens to closed production mods. ;-)
I hope the Alex will add some of the well supported suggestions that can make the mod even better, since he stated he has his own version, the public version should be tailored to make it as popular and stil clsoe to his vision as possible.

Why do people want the game to be easier? I mean, all the talk about crosshairs, iron sights and now; the time between waves longer. I think it's easy as it is. I would like tougher Zombies, (perhaps some boss at the final wave), even more dark, more flow in the waves, less map exploits where you can climb up to where you're unreachable and more expensive weaponry and ammo. I mean really, you need to feel like you could die any second for it to have the really scary feeling to it. The single player, which btw is great, very detailed and not a waste of time, has the scary vibe all the way.
Please don't think I'm saying this just because I'm a "staff member". I had nothing to do with the actual mod.

I am not trying to make the game easier for the Locker rooms or Iron sights. Plainly speaking its more realistic and makes sense for a winchester to be aimed. But personally I dont use the weapon and use the L85 as I like its feel, but it is underpowered, too many shots to take it one down with no skill envolved, as there is no locational damage. But I agree I think the Zombies are too weak they should be stronger, but he is already fixing this.
I am trying to give feedback on things he hasnt planned on fixing yet. ;-)
The locker room time has nothing to do with making it harder, its plain inefficient to have the timer ticking down not allowing me to search the menu to make sure what I can buy.
As for dark, it doesnt always make for a scary game, an overclouded feel can be just as scary, with it being too dark it can Hide graphics, but I turn the contrast up a little so darkness ISNT a big issue with me. The Zombies are, I feel they could be more pronounced from the background, sometimes they look like the background exactly.
I can understand the lack of Realism because its Zombies, but without a certain amount of realism you have Serious Sam for 17 and Under. I am over 21 and prefer to have a little realism to boot with my fantasy monsters. ;-) Over all its a nice game, but some things should be fixed for better gameplay. Zombies that Do more damage are perfect and as he said, will be in the patch.
My hope would be for Locational damage to a can control my shots and hit them in the head and take them out, as it stands now its more like Spray and Pray, and that is for Kids that have NO experience with Fully Automatic Weapons. I had no problems with the SP as it was extra and the Maps WERE GREAT.
BTW where are those spots to hide I havent found any but then again I prefer to get in an open space for these situations, its the training. lol Never box yourself in. For me I am EASY to please just give locational damage or more firepower to the L85 and I will be happy.
