Hello Alex,
Nice game plenty of atmosphere and the music is really good, I THOUGHT it was going to be alot of the hard rock crap, but its not, is it custom music, because some of it sounds custom made and very well done if it was. ;-)
Now on the subject of the post, I notice the Bullpulp is a little weak, It takes far too many rounds to knock one down and ammo runs out quick. No there are 2 solutions to this.
1. Make the bullpulp more powerful 2. Make Locational Damage where head shots take more damage allowing the player to use skill to take an enemy down. I dont say 1 shot one kill with a monster game, but 5 rounds or so would be good.
As it stand right now I am constantly running low on ammo even with controlled burst and using up my points for more ammo, not having enough except for extra clips.
Also I see no settings to adjust how many are in a wave? It seems the menu section for settings is still a work in progress, because most a stock UT04 text?
Anyway please answer me on this if you will as I dont post much and would appreciate and answer. Thanks a heap.
Cheers, Lt1956

People expect it because it is built in to UT2004. You'd have to have turned it off / disabled it somehow for it to not work. Hence people expect it to be in...
Now I know that a design decision may have been made to take headshots etc out of the equation for this release, but that begs the question - why?

Alex seems to be gone..... Interesting, I never leave after a release, thats when you get the most feedback.

Gone? he was on yesterday, so I don't know what you mean by 'gone'. I'm sure he can't be bothered to answer every single one of the threads, thats what forums are for. People helping people. And besides, most of these questions/suggestion have already been posted 10 times before.

True but I have always been respectful and patient with him and felt I deserved some respect myself in being answered. I understand he is young, but I too am a modder and have a very popular mod myself. And I understand how important public perception is on a modders attitude and modding ethics. I am sure being a webdesigner you know where I am coming from.
I feel his mod is nicely done, but more communication and less aggrevation over peoples opinions are JUST as important as the release itself. I too take suggestions and see what would make a game even better, Of course I pick to do what I wish, but I have found feedback provides ALOT of good ideas. Also finding a source of several Beta testers is a good things as most bugs can be found before hand.
I assumed he was gone as I was not expecting to be ignored. I must say if that is the case, then I am most disappointed in that. Professionalism in PR is just as important as in the modding itself.
Great talking with you. :-)

Try getting a friend and having them stand 100% still. Take a link gun, for example. Shoot them once in the chest and ask them how much damage they took. Shoot them in the head. Compare.

OK, but what then does it mean when the announcer scores you a 'Headshot!!'?
Either way the functionality is in their for heads to be blown off - it's not a big step to get locational damage in too.

It's just a hack from the Sniper Rifle Fire class code.... (with allowances made for the custom KF hit effect code) that's about it.
