With the first release of KF not too far on the horizon, I figured i'd take some Time out to ask you fellas what YOU think would be a cool idea for the next (official) map i make for the mod. I'll probably just end up doing whatever the fuck i feel like anyway , but for the hell of it, have your say! ;D Might be interesting to see the ideas that come forward.

I voted for Office Building because I think it would be cool to fight in some type of sky scraper. Especially if you need to like defend all the floors starting with the first then ending with a big defense on the roof.

I thought the 747 would be very cramped with corriders that only go one way so if an Infected was on your ass you were fucked, but I obviously underestimated the size of the 747 with its 2 floors, lots of hallways, etc.
Ya I do think a 747 would be an interesting level. ;D

I like the industrial yard just to add a level with a lot of room to it, but also have it be, you know, really dark night, lots of big looming shadows. Also, it'd be fun to have more interactable stuff. A wrecking ball or something, you know.

Haha i like the block of flats idea! I thought it would be sweet fighting up and down stairways and through people's flat. With cheapo defenses they tried to make.... the others are cool still though, but i think the 747 one would be a bit ....meeh. A bit to small and cramped and awkward and i think we'd face quite a few problems with it?

They all sound cool. I guess making new maps aren't top priority atm, but how about a foggy cemetary clearing in the middle of the woods? Or a suburban concrete residential area as a semi open battleground? Of course, more city street maps would be teh roxor aswell. Just some ideas for the future. Or rather encourage the community to share their ideas.

The Office Building definitely sounds like the most promising. Both that and the apartments would involve clearing out multiple floors and trying to block off and defend staircases. But I think the Office Building would be a little more open and inter-connected, instead of a collection of seperate rooms.

I said industrial place cause it would give a good mix of inside and outside combat. And you can have available traps and triggered things to make it a little more interesting. Also, ur more likely to find ammo and junk in a manufacturing place than otherwise ;D

What about a butchery style map with non-infected human bodies hanging from the cealing humg by chains with blood all over the floor, and the infected eating them?

I don't know how feasible this would be, but looking at the London videos/screenshots gave me an idea. How about a collection of stores and markets? It would be roughly the size of a city block, with everything from a hardware store to a supermarket. There could be back alleys and side streets so if, for example, you're in the supermarket and it starts to get swarmed, you can dip out the back and head over to the flower shop next door. Ok, so maybe that's a bit overly ambitious. But two things I'd like see in every map are A) Open-Endedness, with multiple ways in and out of most areas, and B) The ability to actually secure an area and make it moderately safe - probably by making barricades and blocking off doors. A Night of the Living Dead style map would be really cool, if it's possible to make a map large enough for it. You could start off in a cemetary and have to run all the way to the house. Once inside, you could start blocking off all the doors and windows, with the undead eventually pushing the stuff out of the way and wiggling their way in. Anyway, thought I'd ramble off a few ideas at ya.
