I didn't know what the official prefix would be for Storymode maps so I just used KFS. Sounds close enough. This is a thread for ideas and discussion about the map as I'm currently still working on a Survival map to be released after 2.5 so I can adjust it in order to configure better. Anyways, if you have any ideas for a straightforward objective based story and or certain rides that could be constructed (and how one would go about doing it - so that you don't suggest impossible rides ) This map will take a decent chunk of my time to construct, though it will be cut back considerably with some stable planning, as my other map has done, taking me only a few weeks now with a maybe a handful more to expand and review.

Hey,sounds nice n spooky,just don't include clowns *gulp* I'm pretty sure its kf-name for single player,single player just chooses maps to use,as in normal ut2k4.

try to set your map up with assault objectives b/c i think that is what KFS uses and i believe that is the right prefix :-D

The new story mode, I wonder how it will work, sounds great though. I assume the wave setup wont be used, instead the game will rely on triggers/objectives, really cant wait to see how it all works. I wonder if Alex is working on a map that will support this for 2.5

I wonder if Alex is working on a map that will support this for 2.5 Yeah he is, the revamped SinglePlayer beta thingy that was out for a bit there. As far as I know thats the only StoryMode map being made at the moment...who knows what else Alex has up his sleeve, though even just that would be cool. Its going to be straight out not have the counter-rely only on objectives. Similar to Assault only not necessarily timed, unless the mapper wants to make it timed...which would be INTENSE. But cool. Anyway, aside form pondering the actual gametype, lets just assume I have it right (which I think I do, since I'm just reading what Alex wrote down) and supply ideas for this map!!

I think it would be awsome if we could work on this map together. Providing i get my internet fixed. Anyway, since then ive learnt a bit more on static mesh creation and texturing.
It would be awsome to help you create this map. And like ... i could do one part of the map, and then we could merge the two or more parts we make together.
I think this would be an excellent starting map for Storymode in KF!

Yeah he is, the revamped SinglePlayer beta thingy that was out for a bit there. The Singleplayer Beta map is a Community Patch addition, meaning it was made by Kyben, not Alex. So unless Alex suddenly decided to fix it up for his patch, I doubt he's done any work on it. In fact Kyben has attempted to feel like mapping for it.

That way the map would have more progress, due to if things come up in one mappers life they can pass the parcel off to another, first things first though we all need to finish up our other maps Also Kicker, you currently are the most experienced (aside from maybe pix) mapper that I know in regards to AI scripts, which is exactly the kind of experience we need. Hybz might be able to help us on this one, and I will add some concept scetches and pieces of info and possible objectives etc to this thread soon. My other map is reachign completion and I can't wait to to get Carnival started.

oook. Well heres some updates for you. I have a nice concept pic that inspired me, and some great ideas to involved all of the rides to the best potential. I have created some nice tents and am still perfecting the grounds, my biggest challenge is to create decent looking city around the grounds so that the backdrop is suitably involving. After the death of Hotel I am keeping a back-up, so to ensure I never loose my work entirely. AS soon as I finish my visuals, I will pass it onto Kicker for some Scripting...is that ok man? Then perhaps you could pass it over to Hybz or whoever is next in line to continue to add more detail and then pass it back to me for optimization since I find that and visuals are my speciality. Should be done putting down the foundations in no time, then I can properly organize my objectives and come up with a list. I'm currently making a ferris-wheel. ;D No pics to show at this stage, but soon I'll have some concept sketches up to give those who are going to be working on the map with me an idea of what I have in mind.
