I mean 'Netkactor' as in 'Swamp' map with its moveable beds.
At the moment I can make static meshes and make them kactors, then place and interact with them ingame. But from what I've read the plain kactor won't work online, which is no use for the beloved KillingFloor, an online game. Besides that, plain kactors don't seem to be able to be pushed around, only shot moved around.
Asking questions in this forum is always my last resort, because first I search everywhere on the net for answers. During my netkactor searches I found an interview in French about KF where the netKactor was mentioned... (but only 'mentioned!')
I searched this forum for netk because via Google I found a mention in this forum. But searching using this forum's 'search' turned up nothing... I'm not doing something right here with KF forum searches?
I have goodkarma... it's something to do with the netkactor...?
Placing a netk can't be much more complicated than a kactor , but I just don't know what to do, where to look in KF UED -- it's got to be a simple switch I'm missing?? I copied over a netk bed from Swamp and stared and stared, and it stared back...
Anyway, 2nd question, if you're feeling generous with answers that is, and you know about triggers... So, now I have a scriptedtrigger working -- it is connected to various triggers which successfully triggers events. But will 'the trigger' work online? IE, 'the trigger' I have is actor > triggers > trigger. I've tried using an actor > network trigger (and other triggers too, inc KF, but they don't trigger from the scripted trigger.
Just yes or no answer would be useful, IE YES, use network trigger (and I'll make it work somehow) (drop scriptedtrigger and trigger, just use trigger -- I just thought of that.) Thanks in advance.
Er, respawning exploding barrels -- how?
So, 3 questions, I hope even for just hints because I enjoy the challenge of UED.
And finally, I should say that Killing Floor is an AMAZING MOD -- the gloom, the gothica, the spookiness! All hail to its makers and creators! (I haven't said this before because I thought KF's brilliance so obvious, so praise where it's due). KF -- thinking about it, it's nothing fancy, but it beats the hell out of so many other games that so often seem generic -- plastic, shiny, yawny. KF has an earthy reality element which sets it apart from the herd. (I'm not being paid to say this -- even if KF makers could afford it! I'm a longtime gamer who's just about seen them all, and KF is the best!).
PS: If anyone wants to beta-test my map and particularly its triggers, online -- I don't know how to place it online to test it -- pm me.
