Okay, okay, so only a few people really know about this project I had going, that I dumped due to lack of motivation. Well, now I have my motivation back due to thing to be hyping back up for KillingFloor here, so for those of you who REMEMBER this project, I am going back to work on it, for those who don't know about it. I'll give you some information The map is lightly based on Resident Evil 4's woods (if you ever played it that is), you start off in a narrow path leading into the woods, and you move into town with the wonderful name of "Hell" for no apparent reason. Now, orginally, the story was a convoy of the DRF was trapped in a nasty battle causing them to send a distress signal, which your squad has picked up on and has been sent out to investigate. But, I obviously won't get my convery models so it'll probably be another lame ass helicopter crash deal Also, I am very insane, so, there will be dead bodies like everywhere, along with blood. *twitches* now, basically, I have the entire layout done , and the only reason I ever stopped, was because I only ever liked ONE building I made, which was infact, given to me by Kyben and I changed it, he gave me a simple look, I modified a lot, but still ,he gave me the look. Anyways, the one is to use a lot of ferns and trees to make you feel like there is no escape, since there technically isn't. At all. Ever.....Bitch........Anyways, the map should hopefully give you the creeps like I intend it to, specimens will come crawling out of the woods along with a few other........One time scares (or more if you forget) along with my rather interesting easter eggs (if I can find time to remake the ones I had). But anyways, hopefully this will be done in the next few weeks and ready for all of you "things"to be completely raped on it and then yell at me for making it too difficult! Anyways, the map will be a sort of, morning dawn lighting, if I can master the look,

So, a little update, however, this will be small one, just filled with ideas, do to the fact that I did not have the time to actually, DO anything, after all I've been busy with a small project that Abyx and I have been working on, and on top of that, no sleep, and then work and school, but I'm planning on using my weekend (unless some thing comes up) to work on it, since, we all know I have no life, I can spend my weekend working on this map. Now, so far I've had only a few ideas but I basically wanted a more, global view on some of them. Now, for the most part, the BEST surprises, or annoyances are all kept secret for people to find on their own, I personally, have a sick twist of humor, so I like, sick and twisted maps, but that's not the point. Anyways, the first idea I thought of, is maybe adding a few cellars to some of the houses, now, I know this sounds like a stupid idea, and it probably is, but I was trying to think of a very nice way to add some edge to it. You know, if you bunker down inside a cellar, you have no escape, true, but maybe you have a major edge to keep the specimens from coming in too fast? Sure, if you do it alone, you'll be destroyed, but with 4-6 people in it, you might be able to last a few waves (till the Fleshpounds come and rape you anyways). Still working on the balancing idea, not sure what would give a great edge, but we'll see. Though, one or two cellars I'll have a very....Special surprise thought up for them. Among other things, I was wondering what people thought I should do for the actual town, if anyone has any ideas. The two options I have thought up of, main ones anyways, are simple, either, a spread out town consisted of some decent sized buildings, some two story, some one story. Or a very confined town, with a bunch of buildings, not really big, but not exactly so small they're pointless to enter. Most with an alternative exit so you're not ALWAYS cornered, most buildings will have windows to shoot out of, even climb out of, you'll be able to setup a rifleman in a window of one building, have two shot gunners down below him, then maybe another rifleman in the building that's on the opposite side with a shotgunner protecting him, to create a sort of, cross-fire setup (if all the planning goes well), now, in earlier editions, I was too plain, and too un-creative, buildings look modern and from a city, the blood was put on using statics, which was a stupid idea, and the theme was just horrible. But I do think I can get it down this time. Hopefully I can give everyone the feeling that a past battle as happened in the town you are in, a struggle to keep the specimens away, which failed, and now you're going in to sorta clean up, which, because I'm evil, will most likely fail. Now, the only other hting I can really think of, is before, I had it, trees, town inside the trees, now I'm having trees all around, between buildings, near pathes, weeds, grass, the lot to ggive it an over grown look. Some buildings may or may not have moss all over them, some will be splattered with blood, traces of struggles should hopefully appear, and a bunch of other things that I hope will happen. But, just suggest things, what did you like in RE4 (if you played it) map wise that you might want to see in this? OR what do you htink would fit in the woods and etc

Sweet ideas Grim, one of things i can think of: Interactivity...or stuff that you can do, like smsch windows or doors, useable ladders and karma objects?
Hasterly setup walk ways between buildings?
Damage already inflicted in the town and/or bodies? like downed trees and broken down buildings, and shamllow water areas too?

Well, all windows are already smashable, you can even run and jump out of a fully glassed up window (if you're lucky enough to break all the pieces of glass by walking into it without getting stuck). So if you're on the second story of a two story building, you can jump out the window for an escape, even thouhg it may cause a little damage to you for falling.
Usable ladders I was thinking about, but that'd mean I'd need a place for the specimens to walk around to get players as'well, or some thing. So that's the only problem.

I'm pretty sure the specis can climb ladders, they just shoot right up it....they could in 1.0, atleast. Also, anyone interested in skinning some stuff?

I did some thing sort of stupid:
I reformatted my computer and forgot to save Aftershock because I didn't work on it for about a week straight, so. I am currently getting a beta version from Abyx and I will, have to most likely more than not, start my process over again. So yeah.......But good news is I know what i want this time.
