well, since the approach is a swamp-like map i consider this as the house in swamp. it doesnt need to be very large. besides i guess its all about scaling it right and i think you can manouver in this building quiet well.
in my mind the size is about the interrior of the policestation in west london.

Thanks tronicmind. From the screenshot, Id say:
-I don't like the neon sign, especialy at that angle. better if it were straight. -The shiny trucks are out of place, and their skins look flat. -The terrain need smoothing to look more natural, but I dunno, this might just be something you've not got round to yet. -The fence to the side is ok, make it less straight though. -The road is...ok.I'd use BSP and a properly aligned texture thather than a smesh TBH. -Fleshpound fuels for the petrol station name, obviously. -Consider putting some foliage in. I'm thinking trees and bushes to flessh out the horizon a bit, and add foreground interest. Use smeshes with altered skins: get capeseaslug to photoshop the existing ones so they are faded yellow (dead looking, fits the theme better).
also: why all the floating stuff? going prey on our asses?

---really? you don't like it? lol I thought that would make the Gas Station complete , I was going to put a sign under it with what ever the name will be KF STATION or whatever I'll see what I can do

---ya when I was testing it the texture was all screwed up I'll look around for some other one with the default texture that is one there now you can see the truck from a mile away

From the screenshot you can only see one half of the land(including the road), there is more land off to the left side of the picture, I'd say it will ending up being about Swamp and a half maybe 2 Swamps,
lol now I'm counting in swamps ;D

New Screens These are the shots from what will be the other side of the gas station It might look big, but it is actually very claustrophobic in the trenches. Tried to minimize dead ends as best I could. Still have to put those trees off in the distance, And smooth off the hills <> also for a good laugh I put in the destroyable cargo on the crane . EDIT oh ya and next time I'll go in pumpin out full graphics so the screens look better its horrible quality, except for the print screen

iTunes sucks. I can see that Karma constraint being really...buggy... And hotdamn that looks nice!

Nice! I had a similar thing with the crane on a map once. It was fun (and not as buggy as you'd expect!) -The trenches are part of a constuction site? I get that feeling, but I cant remeber whether you said or not :/ -The sign is a good idea, but the one you got looks wrong, espec for a UK setting. I'll try and find some pics of signs for you. -The terrain could do with a wider range of textures. Check out BarrensTerrain.UTX for some sandy textures, and KFManorTex.UTX for some fitting KF terrain textures. -lighting is ok.... for now -The smeshes you got so far are nice. I'd avoid using stock UT smeshes too much, as they are too clean to really fit the theme. I'd also go with the rusted pipe smesh rather than the shiny one. For a bit of colour variation, see if you can get some blue plastic gas pipes in some places (use them sparingly, else it'll look naff). Finally, check out DM-rankin for girder smeshes, they'd go well here (even if they are stock UT ;D ) -some puddles in the bottoms of the trenches might be nice? -while it looks good from in the trenches, seen from the top that area is a bit non-cohesive.I'd try to disguise some of it with a screen of bushes or something (maybe even some cargo crates). -@ the fence: rather than have the line of the fence be perfectly straight, have a few bits slightly curved or out of line. having some skewed at an angle is cool too. I guess that's all for now. Good work! (don't expect to finish soon though ) EDIT: Also, don't call it KF-GasStation or KF-Station. Perhaps you could name it after a main road. KF-A2 would be quite unique...

yeah indeed that KF-Construction_Site looks really nice but what about the KF-Gaststation? i think the part of the map you did is worth a own map. maybe with a 1/4 finished officebuilding added to run up and down on. i am a great fan of single themed maps. there is nothing wrong with maps with several different locations to fight in like manor or west london but i think if you have a focus on one thing its better. look at swamp or citywide or biotik labs. KF-outdoor is a good example too. kalkus started to add a underground complex to this map and decides to make this part a own map. the way i see it you should decide too, jacksonl: KF-Construction_Site OR KF-Gaststation in the moment i would say KF-Construction_Site. this is where your energy goes, where you have fun and thats what its all about well i am looking forward to your next step and keep up the good work

Well Ya I was thinking about splitting the maps up but for 1 the top of the construction site is off limits the only place your able to go is down into the pipe trenches, plus the construction site is very small, I was considering it something that is like a first defense i doubt anyone would be able to hold the trenches after wave 5 or 6, but then again I'm not sure yet... I could definitely split it up
KF-Station KF-Construction_Site
Well I was thinking I could do this, make the gas station across from the construction site, and just release it early to see what you guys think, see if the gas station across the street flows with the Construction site or if its to weird, then I could definitely spit it up.
also to make another matter
I , well before I started KF-Station I was testing the sky and I made a test map called KF-Bunker, which was nothing in the beginning, just messing around with a Dusk type setting, but turned into an actually pretty fun map, so i think I'm going to send that one out to, but I don't want to bring that in right now I have bigger things to work on.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ok you know what Tronicmind I think your
definitely right here, after a bit of thinking I think it is best to split the maps up, better to make 2 maps instead of combining them both so can some one change the thread name From KF-GasStation to KF-Construction_Site
So I guess I shall be working on 3 maps now lol Law 3 of Making maps: I shall not rush the making of the maps, but take my time
