... Its nothing to do with location, i live in the UK, file front is the US. It lags anyway but some downloads download full speed from ff so its a mirror issue.

lol... i HAVE ut2004 fully updated... I CANT INSTALL THE KF2.11 PATCH BECAUSE IC ANT EVEN DOWNLOAD IT (i got 2.1 but not the community 2.11) The only download for the communtiy 2.11 patch is like fucking 100mb and it downloads at 5kbps from that 1Mirror. So if you're too impatient to download it then quit your bitching; because every server that I personally see is 2.11, and you can't join them unless you have the same version.

Nah ill just uninstall this piece of shit mod with your lack for new player support with your crappy downloads..
Ill just go play some UT3 instead of this crappily built mod.
Also, id rather download a fucking torrent game like 6gb than this because itll be quicker than dling a 100mb patch at 5kbps.

Hey...thats unnecessary. If you don't like it or are to impatient leave alright? Good.
And if you follow the instructions it has player support your just to asinine to realize such obvious things. And id like to see you create a mod with the same conditions on which the mod was created. I'm sure you could with all your talent right?

So basically you are blaming the mod for:
1. Connecting at PEAK time in the UK to download something half a world away. 2. Being to immature to show some patience. 3. Being rude to fellow members of this board who are offering simple advice that we offer any new gamer.
A lot of love has gone into this modification and to blame us as a community and the program itself because of things that our beyond our reach is pathetic and I think I speak for everyone else in this community that we are thankful that your crap internet connection stopped you from playing with us!
If I ever see you on my server I will kick and ban you for being so rude!
*marches off muttering to himself under his breath....*

I've just tried downloading the Community Patch and guess what.....it downloads at full speed! There are about 5 different mirrors, each downloads much better than 5kbps (the 2nd mirror based in Germany downloaded at the about 1.5mbps, I have a 20mb connection)!
Im also based in the UK. Remember UK ISP's are utter crap, who you with? Just because you may be on an "up to 8mbps" connection, doesnt mean you get that, its been proven that 90% of ISP's lie about their speed, the average speed in the UK is around 512kbps, even though you may still think you've got 8mbps.
This mod is a piece of art, trust me. If you truly wanna play this, then follow mine and other posters steps, but please dont come here and start bashing both mod and community, not very respectful.

I was with Virgin ADSL last year, I was with them for 4 years, all was great until BT implemented ADSL Max, Virgin couldnt handle the change and their ADSL service has suffered ever since, this doesnt effect cable though.
The above also hit alot of other ISP's, but they still advertise that their service is the best etc etc. My connection with Virgin ADSL was that bad I was lucky to be able to browse the net, let alone attempt to download anything, I cant believe that they still advertise their service as the fastest in the country, utter bollocks.

Yeah its shocking. And they completely cocked up moving our connection to our new place so we are stuck with them for another 12 months.
I love how they claim that they have no yearly contracts. HOWEVER if you cancel within the first 12 months they charge you 50 quid. Isn't that just the same as a yearly contract.

Thinking about connections problems etc. Perhaps we could put together a .torrent file consisting of all the necessary files and ask for users in the community to add it to their torrent lists.
It won't start a revolution in how people acquire Killing Floor but it might be helpful to lump it all in one file that people can download at their own leisure. Who knows it might even increase the distribution of the game I download things on a whim all the time when brwosing through Isohunt or Piratebay.
Suggestions?

This is where I can help, unfortunately I havent been around properly for a while (mad life at the mo with house move etc), but I should be good in the next few weeks.
I have made a single EXE installer for KF2.11, I made this initially for my LAN party, I have also PM'd PiX about it, once I get my finger out I can send it to PiX and he could upload it here to the main site.
The single installer is pretty much what it says on the tin, it will run just like a normal game installer, ask where you want it to go (obviously in your UT2K4 folder), and install all necessary patches. If I get this thing together I can get it to PiX, this will hopefully sort out all the confusion on what to download.

Will this include maps? Maybe we can create a torrent with the installer and the extra maps in a folder. That way you can take it or leave it when downloading.

Currently there is only 1 EXE installer, this includes everything, KF2, KF2.11, PiX's Black Screen fix, latest map pack and other maps not included in Map Pack.
The whole installer is around the 300mb mark, uncompressed its about 900mb or so. The installer works great, Im very proud of it (works a treat when dishing the LAN party DVD's around).
Need to decide whether the above is the one we use, or whether I cut out the maps and have just a KF2.11 installer (with PiX Black screen fix), and have the map pack as a seperate installer or something?
