Nonworking/slow downloads.

Well for starters i cant get ahold of the custom map pack so i have to download each one from crappy mirrors at 8 kbps.. I cant get the community patch as it dls at 5kbps.. and theres 100mb to get.. What is with these crap hosts as well as many of them are down.

Then you got the ingame servers which download 7mb files in like 10 minutes because thier upload is so bad which is making thier ping bad too.

I really want to play, and the maximum speed i can dl is 240kbps.. i dont see why you uploaded to such bad providers. you should try megaupload.com or rapidshare.com.

(Get a better internet connection, my average D/l speed is 200-500kbps on any site that the files are hosted on.)

Better than filefront.. i mean, im trying to dl The NON FINAL Thames bridge map that you uploaded.. its 14mb and im getting 5kbps.. WTF. its gonna take like 2 hours.. and right now im dling the final map like 30mb from teh german dedicated server (theres like 6 servers and only 1 is populated) and its going roughly 0.1% per 5 sec...

Well if your connection is as great as you say it is, then it might be your location. I don't believe there's much we can do about your problem as I personally haven't heard any other complaints about d/l speed.

And you know what you can do if we can't fix it? You can wait for the D/l to be finished with 5kb per second downloads; it's not the end of the world

Ok weird i downloaded and installed KF-Swamp and for some reason its still trying to download it for the german server.. and its so slow.. itll DC me before it completes..

Sounds as though U aint got the latest 2.11 patch installed, KF-Swamp was updated with that, so the one you're using is probably out of date.

The best thing to do is install KF in the following order:

1.) Install UT2004
2.) Patch UT2004 to 3369
3.) Install the Epid MegaPack
4.) Re-install Patch 3369
5.) Install KF2
6.) Install KF2.11 Patch
7.) Install the latest Map Pack

If the downloads aint working it could be many things, such as location etc. Be patient man, if it aint working tonight try again tomorrow, if it doesnt work then is it poss you can get your buddies to download it for you?


**EDIT** Are you sure it aint your internet connection though, cos when I join a good server (Geisterbahn) I download maps in like 20 seconds?

lol... i HAVE ut2004 fully updated... I CANT INSTALL THE KF2.11 PATCH BECAUSE IC ANT EVEN DOWNLOAD IT (i got 2.1 but not the community 2.11) The only download for the communtiy 2.11 patch is like fucking 100mb and it downloads at 5kbps from that 1Mirror.
