Hi guys, I'm new here. Let me first say great job on an excellent mod. I'm lovin it!
I have a few questions. I followed all the directions in the installation wiki and have the game up and working with the 2.1 patch installed and everything.. When I click on "Survival" from the main menu, it takes me to a list of what should be servers, but none appear. In the lower right hand corner of the screen I see a little message that says "Authentication Failed" and I have no idea what this means. What do I need to do to be able to join games online with other people.
Also, I've been reading the forums and gather that people are playing a single player version of the game, with characters and stuff? I have only been able to start a single player game by creating a server and playing alone on it. Is there some form of single player game that is linear with characters and a story line and stuff that I am just missing?
Any and all help is appreciated, thanks guys!
Garry

Ok, so I reluctantly cracked the files using one of the online enablers, and I'm kinda glad I did. It said it worked successfully, but now when I click on "survival" it takes me to the server screen and in the bottom right hand corner it says "Querying master server...." and then eventually says "Total Servers Found = 0" or something to that effect.
If buying a real version of UT2004 will fix this I have no qualms about paying for it, but I would hate to buy the real version and this error continue. Any ideas or fixes? Again, I installed everything as the instructions told me to, and I can start LAN games by myself that function fine.

So the final answer is I need a real game even tho the online play enable programs got rid of the "Failure to authenticate message"?
And Robot there is still some kind of error, even tho it is actually "authenticating" no servers are appearing. My friend is able to see and play on servers and he owns a real version of the game. The only fear I have is that if I buy a real game it still won't work.

I´m pretty sure the whole thing will be fixed once you got yourself an original version of UT2k4. After all most of us have bought it and even though I think I read something about errors like these appearing on computers with a retail version of 2k4 this is a rare case.
Plus in those cases the users fumbled around with the .ini files and basically brought this upon themselves. So, yeah, buy the game already. What does it cost again ? 10€ ?

I have original UT2k4 (with patch 3369), KF2.1 and i have the same problem.
---------- Hm... fixed?
I turned off all filters (like "only standart servers"). Now i see 3 servers on server browser. xD All are empty...

oh and when people talk about single player, it was something that was only in KF 1.0, so if you want to play it, download it, and its like...an older version of the game :P
i personally never actually bothered
