The down side to it never running out, is that it never has any to start with  . I got it! New idea! Lay the bullets on the ground, and smack them with the axe! With a 3% chance of it igniting the gunpowder and shooting the bullet off in a random direction! |

The 3% could vary with experience, the type of bullet, the type and size of axe, the sharpness of the axe, or your aim.

Reminds me of Valve's Cs:s april fools some years ago. Something about sharpening your knife every now and then so it wouldn't go blunt and rusty.

For added realism, you could provide a chance of 1% (10% for Grim) to hit your own feet, reducing movement speed.

But then water will get in your shoes and its all yucky and your socks become wet and ugh, yucky. I don't mind my toe getting cut off, but I'll be damned if I EVER wear wet socks.
