Out of Hell has an upcoming release. I know what you're all thinking. Hasn't this happened before, like three times? Well, I thought the same thing, but it seems super serial this time. He states the bugs are gone, he's happy with it, and if it were legal, he'd be more than willing to marry the game. So yeh, spread the word around. Refer people you think might like it to the site, and lets see if we can't get some steam going for the mod again. As for me, I'm going to go see if my preacher's license is still good, so I can make him keep his promise.

Looks interesting, I will most definantly download it when it comes out. Did he say a specific date or is it just "soon"? Wondering how much play time is in it as well.

hmmm, that mod looks ace, to be honest looks like a retail game, but due to the guy giving out false promises over the years, can we really expect a release?
I hope so, cos it looks dam cool!

Sour apple.
I'm hoping it'll be out for a yuletide romp through hell. Its had its ups and downs; CRC would sometimes go for months without updating, but then once you were sure it was dead he'd pull out another batch of 100+ screenshots, and describe the current build of the game(apparently, OOH has been just about completely reworked at least three times that I know of, if not more). I've been watching its progress ever since I was supposed to be working in my high school CS class, and its nice to see it closing in on release. I admit I lost faith it would ever come out a little while ago, and I must say I've never been happier to be wrong.

I think the guy was fibbing again, I too have been keeping tabs on the forum, guess what.....no release! The mod looks fantastic, I just think the guy is a perfectionist, which in some ways is good, but come on man, just release the damn thing!

I think when youve worked on something so hard and for so long you do want it to be 100% perfect, but the problem there is exactly this - people may have stopped caring because its taking too long.
Does look amazing though, fair play. Shall keep an eye on that one.

Rule no.1 of software development. You can never have a perfect product there will always be bugs.
Which means this OoH is very buggy or this guy is going to be working on it forever!

Supposedly, he's already put five years into the project, so hopefully it will be bug-notverymany. If you played the demo a few years back it was...dissapointing. The zombies looked great, but the kinds of shadows he used made it run poorly on almost everyone's PCs. However, the gameplay was awesome. There were dozens of zombies on the street(it was a little strange that they just stood there instead of wandering around, but it didn't really take much away), and you were constantly jumping from car to car trying to keep away from them. You didn't have enough ammo by any stretch of the imagination, so you had to avoid the zombies as much as you could. I only ever finished once, and it ended up with me in a narrow alley facing a zombie with no ammo, holding my crowbar, and saying 'alright...lets do this motherfucker!'
That said, there were a good number of bugs. Attempting to change the resolution or graphic quality would remove the hud. Some zombies never moved, no matter how close I got to them. Zombies had magical stretching arms, so if you ever got within range, you took damage, even if you were ten feet away by the time the bastards attacked. That being said, CRC has stated on multiple occasions that he learned quite a few lessons from the demo, and the final product will be memorable.

As much as I appreciate what he's trying to do, by this point CRC has more or less thrown credibility to the wind.
If you aren't going to release on a date, then DONT GIVE A DATE. big no-no.
