I was looking through some old interviews with alex and I saw some neat ideas that musta died one of them being: "Bryan (modDB): On the subject of internal beta screenshots, most had a tattooed player. Is this the main character or just a class for the Uninfected? Alex (Killing Floor): The player characters are a group of battle hardened Commandos. They have all the gear, and yep, fancy arm art. Players will randomly be given a class of commando each time they (re)spawn with a different weapon load out. For example if you happen to spawn as a Heavy commando you will carry a Shotgun, Fire Axe, and a couple grenades. Where another class might find itself with a Bullpup rifle and a Bat. I’m doing my best to keep it all balanced and fun, so no matter what you spawn as, you can kick ass and support your team. But if an ally dies, you can still pick up his weaponry and add it to your own. There's no carry limit really, so for players who survive for along time, the line between classes will really blur as they amass their armory" So what happened to this idea? Was it to hard to code or just got buried under new ideas?

It would end up in people killing eachother to get better gear I think Also the new things feel better to me

I showed up as 2.0 came out so I never got to see these ideas in motion or anything. Thats why they seem to cool in concept, and couldn't someone disable FF so theres not a DM instead of Zombie killing?

Those early pictures look awesome. The maps look darker and more sinister.
I really wanted the 50 cal machine guns probably my most desired request.

If you go looking around you should be able to find the original KF1.0 Demo (it predated the 1.0 release by several months) In there you will see the oldest KF content around. And it's REALLY cool! It's also offline only, and completely unsound but for pure mood, it's totally killer. I'm hoping some day i'll be able to bring that back to KF. I feel like I lost abit of the visual / emotional power in an effort to bring a better technical product to the table. Now that the technical product is sound, i can always go back and "evil things up" a little

Yea I loved the original art style of KF and looking through some of those pictures I saw the old HUD I liked that too. Can someone post a link for the 1.0 thing I would really love to play it. Or I can just go to Google and search it..but thats to much work

That's why we changed things up with the 2.11 patch, we(Me and Grim...) wanted to bring the 1.0 feel back as much as we could at the time. Seems like it worked a little.
