We all know the two gameboy metroids were among the greatest games ever made, but which is best between the two?
Personally, I like Fusion the most. Fusion has a much more involved storyline to it, and you get a greater feeling of...well...uselessness, I guess. You're constantly hunted by an enemy that you can't even mildly irritate, and can kill you without flinching. Also, the last fight just made me say "What?!" and sit there for a few seconds completely shocked. Plus, IMO samus looks much cooler in the fusion suit than the normal power suit.
I played metroid prime a bit; didn't really like it. It was well made and all, I just never got into it. Don't know why.
Anyway, what do ya'll think? Zero mission or fusion?

I've never played Fusion, but Zero Mission was rather entertaining...untill I got stuck at a part where I couldn't figure out where to go, but yes.

That IS kind of a drag, and happened to me on at least three occasions each game. If worst comes to worst I suppose you could check gamefaqs.com for a walkthrough(honestly, some of the solutions to the "puzzles" are some of the least intuitive things you can imagine.)

I tried looking.
Honestly, I couldn't even find what place I was at.

Played and beat both... Fusion was ok, it just really wasn't a Metroid game... it was way, way too linear and I hated the fact that you couldn't find everything on the first run through... it's a cheap, low blow to tack on replay value. Super Metroid is still played today (the best 2D Metroid IMO) by tons of people... Fusion isn't. I did like the difficulty though, it wasn't too, too easy, the Omega Metroid cameo was nifty, while unnecessary, and I liked the storyline elements to a degree. I just hated being told where to go.
Zero Mission was a nice remake, and my favorite of the two, especially with my utter surprise at what happens after the death of Mother Brain... but gods-be-damned it was just way too friggin easy.
Metroid Prime was probably the best Metroid game so far, simply because it was so well made, so complete, so open, so alive... you felt like you could reach out and touch the world... it was immersive, and the story was amazing... so detailed and engrossing... and it's told through sight, through feeling... I wasn't a big fan of the ending though, as I felt it was rather... abrupt...
... I still think that the best item in Metroid ever was the spider ball from the second one though... they badly need to bring that back.
