I'm sure most people here have heard the extremely ridiculous name for the new Nintendo console. Recently, I've been playing with ways to say it's name in public without the need to cringe (or at least reduce the cringiness) For example, if pronounced with with a scottish accent, it makes sense without sounding like a waste product of the human body, e.g. Do you like Nintendo's new wii (wee) console? Result! Especially if you are actually Scottish, and surrounded by your scots mates, who have a fine tradition of silencing any mockery of their traditional vocabulary I have other, (somewhat more contrived) examples, but I want to give everyone else a shot too - how can we minimise the embarassment for ourselves after Nintendo made a fine job of shooting themselves in their own foot? (Or if you're feeling evil towards the daft gits, see how vicious a sentence you can construct involoving the new machine. Please keep it below the level of crudeness that may inspire a ban from me or Alex - spoiling the fun for the sake of a cheap joke isn't worth it )

You can also try a french accent on it, "Oui" Anyway what is it you are relating it to male genitals for? Is wee annother word for dick?.... Soryy but english is not my mothertongue so I would not know what it is about.
I'll just keep calling it the Nintendo Revolution anyway

Or German Accent.
Vee. Although you'd be saying Nintendo How... due to the pronounciation...but yes.

Just say revolution, only angrilly and forcefully as though you'd beat up anyone who said differently.
Here's a scenario: your friend is gloating over winning a game of smash bros or whatever and you're getting tired of it. "Keep it up and I'll break your wii"

I think i'lll get it, as long as the games are comparable to nintendo gamecube. The resident evil / zelda series single handedly made the purchase worth the while. Unfortunately, i noticed that RE5 is not Nintendio exclusive.....I may end up sticking with PC.

The resident evil / zelda series single handedly made the purchase worth the while. I agree with that statement 100% The only 3 GC games I own are Resident Evil 1, 2 and 4.

As I've said before, the gamecube was the clear loser when it comes to the current console generation. However, when they get a good exclusive, they get a <good> exclusive. Hell, to this day, almost four years later, I still play melee, and so do most of my friends. RE4 is one of those games that every gamer owes it to themselves to at least try once(they'll be hooked)like half-life and kingdom hearts. Wind Waker...the cell shading turned some people off(I like how nintendo tried to play it off when the first screens came out that they were low resolution and would look bad. Yup, that's why they looked bad; the resolution, not the art style)but if you could get past it you'd get a zelda that could almost rival ocarena of time, which is also on "the list."

Hey Macon, for a very well written, and very convincing negative review of Wind Waker, go to insertcredit.com. I was really surprised, the guy REALLY knows how to review... he basically ties it in with the evolution of gaming and society... but it makes sense... really...

Sorry to bump the thread but I jsut read a few reviews on the site mentioned above. I think I'd like it more if he spent more time reviewing and less time trying to convince himself how much better he is than everyone else.

He does have a bit of a god streak in him... but he does think out his reviews, at least a little better than say IGN or whatnot... I haven't played Windwaker, so I can't say, but just thought you'd like the site. Oddly enough, he graduated from the same college I just did with the same degree... that was a bizarre discovery...

There were only a couple parts that gave me any small amount of difficulty, and they were few and far between. That being said, this game has an awesome(awesome to the MAX)storyline, is extremely fun, and takes a very long time to beat. As long as you don't despise cell shaded graphics outright, its definately a game you owe it to yourself to play.

I thought the graphics were the most brilliant part of it. I definately will get around to trying it sometime.

I'll be getting the Wii, only because it's gonna be around 200-250 bucks, which compared to the release price of the PS3 and the 360, is a lot more worth it to me. That, and Red Steel looks damn sexy.
