Anybody else read this book? Compared to his others, it's a much faster read, and I have to say, any fan of zombies is hurting themselves by not reading it. Definately excellent. Just open the front cover and see the dedication: "George Romero"
They also make a nice honorable mention of Neal Stephenson.

Oooooh, tempting! King's work in the past has been good for me rather than great. I like the guy, and really want to love his books, but there's always been something missing. This one, however, you are describing in terms of Romero and Stephenson. Romero and Stephenson AT THE SAME TIME ;D Maybe this one will be the one to really click for me. I shall seek it out

Good read but another notch in the can't-figure-out-how-to-end belt (ie- Dark Tower).

The Stephenson part mostly comes from the Snow Crash-esque explaination of the human mind.
And yeah, Dark Tower... grew up with that damn series... wish I had stopped reading when he told me to...

That's OK, Snow Crash is almost Stephensons finest hour, so echoes of that book is a good thing ....and his finest, IMHO? The Diamond Age. A book that fits my preferences so well that it doesn't have flaws, only 'features'
