Doom 3. Terrible. Its all limited visibility(no explaination why you can't use the flashlight and pistol at the same time; eventually I was so fed up with it I had to get the duct tape mod) and cheap scares; someone needs to explain to ID the difference between fear and surprise I think. The weapons were pretty uninspired and dull, with the possible exception of the BFG and plasma gun. Bouncy ball grenades...who in their right mind would think of something that bad? Also the scientists had the same big, beefy body type as the marines and workers, which was strange. Oh, and the main character never talked, which pissed me off.

And duke nukem forever; what the hell? Either make the game or stop production.

Er, I dunno. I kinda liked Doom 3, and the whole sensless shooting of everything in the face, repeatedly (noticing a pattern here ;D).

I did hate the little I played of GTA after it became 3D. It just felt souless and forced. And constantly being told it was awesome annoyed me. The graphics are lame in the later games. The framerate chugs, the controls are fudgy, the driving is nowhere near as good as people make it out to be (I prefer midtown maddness 1). It doesn't feel alive like locations did in other games. You feel like you are playing a game, whilst the developers have tried to make it realistic. Now it has become a pointless cash-cow, with a psp version (GTA III with shiny bits and fewer polygons) and the newly announced GTA IV.

Halo 3 vid was kinda neutral to me. I've not seen it in action yet thought. My thoughts:- If it keeps up the gameplay from the previous two, great. The vid doesn't show this though. but it's nice to see it confirmed, and it looks nice and err... shiny.

What the deuce? I like meta-knight(favorite part of kirby adventure was the fight against him), but solid snake? I don't even want to KNOW how that's going to work. Ah well...if they can make captain falcon, gameandwatch(who I desperately hope isn't in the new one), and jigglypuff to work I'm sure they can get Solid Snake to work. Hell, maybe next time we'll get Raiden, and the time after that the developers will just come over to our houses and beat us silly.
Well, I guess metal gear was a game on the old nintendo, but for that matter so was megaman, and they haven't put him in there. Seriously, how many megaman games were there on the NES? Six? Now how many star fox games were there? I thought so.
Anyway, I'm probably not thinking straight. I had the bright idea of watching Uwe Boll's House of the Dead on the sci fi channel just to see how bad it really was and now my ears are bleeding.

Edit: Seriously, what the hell? Not only are these the worst actors this side of Air Bud, there are some inexplicable parts, such as little clips from the video game popping up every now and again.

Interestingly enough, about Solid Snake being in SSB3, I guess Kojima had practically begged Nintendo to put him in the second one... and there have been hints dropped about that other 3rd party characters may appear... most likely Sonic, but characters like Mega Man, Bonk, Bionic Commando (why wasn't he in there?), Jason from Blaster Master... heck, anything is possible now. Especially since Microsoft and Nintendo both gave Sony the collective finger at the unimaginable arrogance they spewed around.

I honestly think I've changed my mind. I think I want a Wii. Mostly because it's different. Every argument about the Xbox 360 and PS3 has been about hardware... and I'm sad to note that I've joined in that on occasion... and I used to complain about graphics over gameplay... it's how a game feels that makes it good, not how it looks... that just helps. It's about good games with good friends. Heck, why are we all following this mod if not for that ideal?
