That poem was a song from somewhere, but I can't remember where:p. I just always imagine it being sung really slowly by a creepy little eight year old girl ghost, and it scares the crap out of me. Big O...I saw it when I was vacationing in new york a couple years ago(my cousin had it on DVD). It was equally terrible and great. There were a lot of parts I really liked, and a bunch of parts that were so cheesy it made me cringe. Overall it was a bit too much of a giant robot soap opera for my tastes, but I can still appreciate why one might like it.

I think you just about hit the nail on the head there. I find the more I watch it, the more I like it (and speaking of cheese, I find it much less offensive tham most programmes of it's type), but conversly the more it confuses me, because it seems the phrase 'WTF?' was made up purley for Big O's storyline. I don't think I've ever seen a much less conclusive last episode.

Lets see...Fullmetal Alchemist was pretty good but that was really a soap opera; totally over the top melodramatic. Still, I enjoyed that one. Naruto would be really cool if I were seven or eight years younger, but as it is its a bit too much of a kiddie anime. And, as we all know, Cowboy Bebop is the best anime ever. Even people who hate anime love that series.

Macon, thanks for reminding me. I've been meaning to watch Cowboy Bebop for awhile now...
(By the way, if any Anime story is really good, that'd be Elfen Lied.)

My brother has the dvds; watching the movie its pretty obvious you're supposed to see it on the big screen. A bunch of scenes, such as the ships passing overhead, just weren't as breathtaking on my tv as they would be in a theatre. Honestly though, very few action movies are just as good outside the theatre.
My favourite anime when I was a kid was an anime called yu yu hakusho. I saw the last season recently and I was pretty dissapointed; it was dangerously close to DBZ with demons. I loved the first season because the main character won all his fights due to a number of flukes(at one point he slipped and fell into a huge mud puddle, throwing some heat-seeking shurikens off course and back at the guy who threw them); they just made the mistake of making their characters way too powerful, and there's only really one place that can lead.

Since for some reason pasting the direct link, it just gives me 'cowboy' as the search. www.youtube.com type in Cowboy Bebop for the search and scroll down, you can just watch the episodes right there.

(By the way, if any Anime story is really good, that'd be Elfen Lied.) Never heard of it...what's it about? Also, does anyone else think Akira was a bit overrated? I liked it and all, but it wasn't anywhere near the best anime ever, as most of my friends said it was. Also, as we haven't said enough random stuff for a thread titled "spam"

Already Wikipedia'd it; was hoping for more of a personal overvew I guess. Anyway, I wholeheartedly agree on the PS3. The PS2 was the clear winner when it came to the current generation; the other consoles were by far superior when it came to power, but the PS2 had more amazing games than either of them(I defy you to find five games last year that came out on only the cube and didn't suck out of control. I sure as hell can't). The Xbox had its moments, but the vast majority of great games on it came out on the PC(sometimes with extra content, no less), so if you could stand the wait it was entirely unnecessary to buy one. Anyway, I'm sure the PS3 is harping on the PS2's success to push the profit up. If the 360 is any indication they'll only release a few of them to drive the price up. Somewhere I read how they planned to keep the trend going, and with the PS7 they'd only release three per year, which would sell on ebay for roughly $40,000. Anyway, they've basically taken the 360 business model, where they have the delux and crap-bag editions, which is just a thinly veiled attempt at making the one you'd actually want all the more difficult to find, and drive the price up even higher. They removed the batatrang controllers and now they have a PS2 controller with some kind of tilt sensor so you get to buy a new controller that works and looks the same as the old controller only you have to hold it really still. Seriously, All these shady business tactics are pissing me off; I don't even think I'll be buying a next-generation console, even if you could buy all three for the price it would take to get a top of the line gaming rig(and you can). Still, this is double the price of the PS2, which was overpriced in the first place. And don't even get me started on the WII...just <insert random penis joke here>. Thought it looked lackluster as a console when it was the revolution, now its the lackluster console you'd never be able to tell your friends about due to the shitty name. They say zelda is going to come out at launch but will be playable on the gamecube...yeah, right. [/rant]
