Please elaborate, this sounds pretty awesome, I assume it will be multiplayer co-op?

From what I've heard, the new gamemode is more or less, from point A to point B, with an objectives list. But I don't exactly know completely, as I've been taking time off from the patch while the BETA is going to get back on track with work.

KF assault is something a few of us have talked about before, that seems to be what that sounds like

kind of like a combination of monster assault and killing floor

Quite an awesome gametype. Survival is only about fighting off waves of specimens.
For Story, its possible to create a whole campaign for players to go through.
Example: the 1.0 singleplayer.

Or smaller challenges could be made.
Example: Players are dropped off in westlondon and must collect items all around the map while being attacked by an endless wave of specimens, then return to the chopper.

The possibilites are endless.
And yes, it will be multiplayer.

Is this something that is being developed now, or something that will be released post patch? ALthough I want this new gametype, I would really like the patch soonest really.

Most likely it will be with 2.11.

So if its gonna make Patch 2.11, does this mean the patch itself is delayed for a while? It's just a new gametype sounds like something that would delay the patch for months really.

Sorry for sounding negative, its just I'm eager for the patch really, especially with a LAN party looming, hehe.

**EDIT** Also was wondering whether the black screen bug had been fixed, meaning if you cant connect to whatever server you choose you get a somewhat error given to you instead of nothing!

This new mode sounds amazing, I cant wait maybe some objects you can collect will adversely affect something in another level. Like if you don't collect lets say a "Power generator" and if you don't get it, another levels inside enviorment will be completely dark or something,

We are NOT supposed to make that much clear actually as it's not sure it will be finished and we should not give the community false hopes.

This patch was built on false hopes.
Besides, people should know why we're taking so long and not adding anything new.
