hmm, surely theres a timing tweak or something, thing that comes to mind is like, if you've ever seen an rpg server (god forbid) and the weapon speeds are tweeked up, then the firing animation is sped up to to compensate
or did i just miss the point, i think i did
the point was the animations dont synch up with the clicking presumably
and was that left and right firing independantly not working? so is it still possible to use normal semi auto but using the same whatever animation to clip size ratio

The reason it wouldn't work is because when you fire the left pistol, the right pistol's animation is to stay in the same place. Meaning if you shoot them at the same time, neither would move. We could make the animations faster, but then its just going to look really silly fast. On top of that, if the gun shoots by how fast you click the button, it would make having dual pistols pointless because your finger is going to go the same speed whether you use single or dual. I also don't want our patch the leading cause of Carpul Tunnel Syndrom.

*tries to understand that* >.< i got the bit about animations, thats if both were firing independently and the way i see it is like, the shotgun firing speed is capped at a certain refire rate, but semi auto (unless all the weapons keep firing if you hold fire, i click them all singley )(apart from bully and dualies) so is it not possible to have the pistols firing semi, just off primary, but obviously you can only click so fast go play FEAR and see how the dualies fire, it is supreme

I think what he means is, if you shoot once, one pistol starts the animation, and then if you try to shoot again, the first pistol is still in its animation, so it will restart and go weird.
OR
If you shoot the left, the right is staying in its place, like it should, but if you fire both in quick succession, they will both stay in place, because one stays in place while the other shoots.

well the last thing i thought of was, can you make it so the pistol is pickupable, as in, when a player dies, they drop their pistol, but it says you already have one. like the dual assault rifle in ut 'cause thats more of a bug than an added feature make pistol throwable possibly too :-?

The Assault Rifles and Dual Assault Rifles are the same weapon. When you pick up a second one it just duplicates the first and moves it over.
Its not really possible because the pistol and dualies are seperate weapons. When you pick up dualies it hides the pistol till you drop the dualies. So thats why when someone dies and they drop a pistol, you cant get a second one.
Why would you want to make the pistol throwable? It weighs nothing and everyone has one.

ClotFlair, is this going to be done on all specimens, or just the clots? They're looking good, much better, like they have actually killed loads of people/animals.
**EDIT** That got me thinking, why not have some random animals running around, like dogs, cats, birds etc, birds could circle around the sky or maybe land and fly away when in danger, whereas dogs/cats (ferals) would attack not only the specimens but maybe the soldiers if felt threatened.

Why not, I mean at the end of the day I see KF as a kind of 28 days/weeks later situation, England has been lost to a virus, there would be plenty of feral animals stalking the streets.
Or did you mean that technologically it isnt a good idea?

Yes, the "flair" will be done to all specimens. (I still find flair a stupid word.) KF was inspired by 28 Days Later, thats why it looks like it. Animals are not going to be added, unless you really want to wait an extra month for the patch. 1: We don't want to be modelling animals when we could be using our time to better something else. 2:I don't think you would see very many animals roaming London. 3: Either the specimens would kill them or most likely if we DID add them, players would always shoot them. (who could blame them. ) Infact there are already birds, look in the sky in West London and Manor. Btw, sorry for shooting some of your idea's down, but at the same time we want to try and keep everything balanced, bug free, have the patch come as soon as possible, and I'm just not a good enough coder to implement most things. We really do look into everything you guys ask, so sorry in advance if we don't get to some of them.

Ah dont worry about it Kyben, if you just shot down ideas without a reason then it could potentially look bad, but the fact you give a valid reason every time shows you do look into things.
You guys are doing a fantastic job as it is, you dont even have the original code and you are still fixing bugs, adding new content.
Sorry if this sounds cheeky, but do you have any estimates on realise?
**EDIT** BTW I knew the mod was originally based on 28 days later, thus the reason I mentioned it, hehe.

by adding in that pistol change, you could throw your pistol to a respawned / just joined player, that's why and i could make pix or bindal just give me their pistol so i can go on a dually rampage >.>

There is no set date for the release of the patch, but as we are almost done with everything, probably less than a month.
