I would assume that Alex is probably working in his new mod that involves the ocean and sharks..
I still have hope that he'll finish this patch though. Someday

So i rarely check these boards much these days, but I figure that in the spirit of "keeping it real" I should probably fire an explanation for the no- patch situation your way.
I moved on.
Yep. I have moved on in life, and modding, and pretty much everything.
Ok you can have a moment to weep, or call your boss and tell him that you're taking the day of for a loved one's funeral but there's the plain ol' truth. The good news though, is that I still love KF, and I still want to bring off a final hurrah for it.
It's kind of like .... a meet me half way thing. I was down in London recently getting drunk with Gibby (who hopefully some of you remember) and I think out conversations on the topic were to the effect of "yeah, it'd be sweet to pull something else out of KF but.....argh, i've got stuff to do and .... it's really not that high on my list anymore".
And god knows, as a professional game developer Gibby has good reason to stay well away from unpaid endeavours that consume time from his already busy schedule. Me? I'm really just not in a KF mood anymore. Nobody has leapt on me and throttled me by the neck saying "here is some cool shit ive done, here is where the mod can go, here is what you have to do". Sure its abit cheap to blame everyone but myself, but in fairness - I haven't seen too many people who have approached me on MSN or personally offered to get stuck in with the project. I get the impression it's had its heyday.
But let's not say never.
I guess you could say im looking for an excuse to get back into it. And forums full of "wouldnt this be cool" ideas that never get off the ground, and busy or otherwise disinclined potential developers do little to change my mood .

As I worked on a mod (for Gothic) myself, I know how difficult it can be to get back to "old" work once you left it. But from what I read in your patch-posts there are many things you already finished - like many bugfixes etc. It would be of great help if even these were released. Maybe then even new players will come again to KF, as they see that KF is not dead (even though it may be then). Furthermore, even if you release the patch without new things like the accuracy-system it would help if you just fix some of the bugs (for example the axe-bug, it's the most annoying one to me). I really like KF, even the way it is now. Sure, there are some things that could be changed to make it even better, but the most important changes are the bugfixes it seems. However I'd like to have this bonus system for healing others added to KF as well. I would accept all possible changes, but obviously the most important are the bugfixes now Ok, now to get to the point as you wanted it^^, here's what you have to do: Fix those well known bugs that are mentioned here (top of page) mrkadish.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=bugsWith those outta the way, the most often occuring bugs will be removed. If one bug takes longer to fix than your interest lasts cut that one out. Even a small patch would be appreciated. And when you're at it, you might want to change the waves a bit -> lower the amount of FPs in later waves [low priority]. Even one or two FPs can break the player's defense, so I guess 50 at once of them are just too much^^ Ok, this post gets way too long, but one last thing: From what I can tell you are the only dev left that knows the KF code. So you are the only one that can actually fix bugs in a moderate amount of time (my personal opinion). btw: My guess why nobody contacted you about KF is that they assume you are a busy guy without much time for answering mails all the time
