YO ppl, just popping in for a minute, i've been absent lately a lot, like, for nearly half a year, lol.... well things got messy here, I was pretty busy with graduating and stuff.
Sadly, I still am not very able to help very much on the mod, like being a coder for the MP-Part since I am currently located in Russia (St.Petersburg, to be precise) and do not have access to an internet that provides me with the ability to play online.
When I joined the Team, the premise was to help release KF and to provide a patch for the worst bugs that would appear. That was my initial "contract" with Alex so to speak. With time, I got more involved with this mod and the guys here that I agreed to do more for it, without realizing my inability to do so. I am sorry the promises I made which I could not keep. But sometimes I am hotheaded like that and rush into projects that are too big for me.
Having said that, I came back to the forums and saw that people still are seeing me as a part of the team (I am still a moderator, lol), so I just wanted to say that I am still alive and I still am willing to work on the mod as I really like this game and want it to have some impact as well. Mybe not to provide patches (well, Alex is doing that right now), but to help with other aspects I can help with.
Having said that I have another downer for you: I switched to Linux. Which means I can not play or code for UT right now. If there is anyone here who can help me get UT2004 to run on a Linux system, I would be very appreciative.

Ey brudda, long time no see! I had just assumed you had made a deal with the devil or somethin'.
Anyway, I'm sure I speak for everyone that we're very appreciative of everything you've done, and will be of anything you continue to do in the future.

Hi Faust, i am grateful for your 2.1 patch which fixed quite a few stuffs and improve. Like your guide on customise waves...Which really aided me much on reducing the amount of specimens and improve some performance. Since i play with high pings players most of the times when i cant join other servers. Though custom waves... Still cant beat the game alone. LOL. (unless it is all clots waves)
Waiting for Alex patch to be out. And hope to see more scrakes appear in more waves and early than siren.

Good to see you back. Now I think I can get rid of this title I am using Linux also. I haven't got any games setup yet. But I guess I will try it someday.

The linux installer comes with 2k4 (linux-installer.sh I think). If you have the CDs I think it's on the 1st. Just copy it into your home dir or something. Open a term and su. sh linux-installer.sh and you should get a install gui. The cd key is case sensitive and unlike the Win32 ver it doesn't verify durring install, only when the game is run. So make sure you enter it right. 2k4 is installed (on mine, default) in /usr/games/ut2004 (or is it /usr/local/games/ut2004). After install exit and run UT2004 as normal user. It'll create a /.UT2004 dir in that users home folder. This is just a mirror of the base install that saves all that users ini settings and stuff. If this user is the only one that's going to be running the game you can install mods in there just as if it were the normal ut2004 dir. Makes things easier to cleanup. Running KF is hardly any different than in Win. Just ut2004 -mod=KFMod20 from a term.
ucc might work. I've never tried it but afaik it was working w/ ut436, so I only assume that Epic didn't remove a feature they had from 2001.

FGuck, I'm so wasted... well, thx anyone, I stilll have a XP-Partition which is like open like an open door or something... so I guess I will be able to compile stuff in the future. I don't have my UT2004-DVD atm, so that won't work sadly (I'm running on an ubuntu 6.10 (EE))
Well, if there's something for me to do, I'll gladly do it, since I am not that informed right now about progress of the patch and the current needs. I guess I will be working on 2 Mods for KF while waiting for orders. Won't tell the details yet...

That helps a lot. Even though it was aimed at Faust. I will steal this and use it for my own needs. Ta.
