Alright, since there has been a whole lot of talk about new monsters, and new content for KillingFloor, which, we all probably know won't happen too well due to lack of coders, and the fact that we like, LOST the core code for KillingFloor, but that isn't the point. The point is, I decided to open up a small little free contest, yeah, that means, free for you, and free for me, so don't expect money.
Now the point is, people want new monsters and all, and I figured I'd give people a chance to come up with some ideas, and just chat about it. Now, the actual CONTEST part, is for anyone who wants to, draw up a new monster, and send me a PM with it and I'll upload the photo, and host it here for everyone. So please, no one upload pictures here, send them all to me in a PM, or even add me to MSN/Yahoo/AIM and send it to me over there. Now, I don't know how many people can actually DRAW, or even care to do this, but I figured I'd give it a shot, if you can't draw, maybe get a friend who can.
But yeah, who ever wins I'll model their monster and display it here, and try my best, to find a code to implent it into KF, but don't expect much on that last bit, it's probably impossible to get it in. So just for now, it's just a model.
Rules:
1. Must be a front view and side view of the monster.
This is very important because if I don't have a side view AND a front view, I can't actually model. Also, please, make the drawing as if it would be a reference picture for modeling, which means (if you don't know) that arms have to be straight out from the torso (unless like, the torso isn't what connects the arms), this is important because when modeling arms that are too close to the torso all the way down, when applying the bones, which is what allows it to move, and be animated, the skin stretches off the torso and connects to the arms, and you ruin your model. Also, a last favor on this, side view, dont'draw the arms, it just gets in the way, just allow maybe a circle or some thing where it would connect so I know how big it should be?
Yeah, that was a big rule. I'm too lazy to shorten this stuff.
2. Short description of the monsters abilities. Or long, if you want. That means, if you want the monster to run 30 times faster then the player, you just, jot down some thing like "Speed: 30X Faster then Player" simple aye? If you want to get detailed, go right ahead. If you want, even write a back story on the monster!
3. Any additional abilities might be drawn unless you want me to create some thing myself, like, say his tongue hangs out with slime dripping from it or some thing interesting like that, just, draw his mouth open with the tongue you want really hanging out. I'll probably get it from there, or draw the tongue seperate, that works too, and may, or may not, be better. Never tried it that way to know honestly.
4. Don't be lame?
Anyways, if you CAN'T draw, and would still like an idea to be used, write down the desctription of the monster, and maybe some one will draw it up, if I could, I would, but I can't draw. SO yeah. If you want to you may do that, please keep the post clean, and respectable, if you don't like some ones idea, keep it respectable, or keep it to yourself, instead of saying "that's a retarded idea, you should go die" just say "I don't like the idea of the 30 foot worm being able to turn invisible, maybe it could have a speed boost instead of invisibility?"if you can't do that, don't bother posting.
So yeah, just have fun, post what you think, if some one suggests some thing and you can draw, try drawing it for them, remember, side and front views are needed or I can't model it, this IS NOT official, meaning, I'm doing it for the Hell of it. If I can, I will try and make a mutator, or even a possible patch or some thing to implent it into KF, but dont'get your hopes up. I'm horrible at that kinda stuff, I just model.
P.S I can't skin, so don't expect it to be all nice and pretty looking skin wise, I will TRY to get it done, or find some one to do it, but I doubt I will. If you can skin, maybe give me a shout if you wanna help.
