The M82 is an anti-material sniper rifle, designed to destroy unexploded ordinance and disable lightly armored vehicles... they call it anti-tank, but it really doesn't work in that role very well.
It has an effective range of over 1500m, with a record shot of 2500.
It tends not to be used against enemy personnel, mostly because it is a LOT of overkill for one guy... a smaller rifle works just as well, and those bullets cost less.

The assault rifle M82 is the one in the link I'm asking about.
But you confirmed it anyways, ze anti-tank/materials rifle.
One of the most common sights in movies, games, and whatnot as the sniper rifle..
Wasn't there another anti material rifle that used.. even bigger rounds?
Some sort of test round that was gigantic..

talking about new weapons heres an idea for much fun and mess  lets call it pressure-spear. i think its used for fighting sharks (i dont know were this picture in my mind comes from. a movie i guess) it is a spear with a big needle as head. if you pierce a target with it compressed air will be pushed into the victim until it...explodes.  imagen the mess and the fun it would be to have a melee-weapon like this in KF 2.0.  |

Tronic, that's pretty insane, and horribly illegal. Besides, a speargun will do the job just fine... some of my good friends out here are spear fishermen.
While the M82 is popular in film and games, it's pretty damn useful in the real world. It can pierce through A manhole cover, or split the engine block of a truck. It would probably leave an exit wound the size of a beachball. Recoil is pretty heavy though. It's an impressive gun, that's for sure. I'd hate to be on the other end of the scope of one.

We do need another assault rifle, or at least a decent one... I know ZB and Abyx agree on that. Steyr Aug A3 or at least an A2 one would save my day ^^ The A3 model can handle up to 42 shots, using same 5.56 NATO ammo as the L85 Bullpup do ... It got a zoom function and can be adjusted on semi shot, semi-auto, full-auto. <3 Best thing that could happen to snipers on their own ^^ |
