Back to topic (Last 3 Posts, before XPC started bitching arround): hey I'm trying to put a ts viewer on the site so if anyone has some experience with that info would be appreciated Download a ready-to-go TS viewer code and install it. TS2-Viewer 2.0 was my favorite one a long time ago ... Well, however, download it, follow the instructions and - I guess you aint got php support on your webpage - embed it in an iFrame on your page, where you want it to be ~ Configure the iFrame (size, border off - better for IE user) and that's all. And just btw. you'll need the TS-IP, the port and the TS querry. The first 2 are easy to get, but if you got a free-TS-Hoster, he'll probably don't give you the querry. hey for the server wut ould i have to do so that people can join it? firewall that kind of thing Well, some firewalls could prevent Players from joining your server. Like the old version of Kerio Personal Firewall do... If the Firewall is really blocking it, you can see it at the serverselect menue (All servers N/A on ping). Than there's an option called bNoLateJoiners, I advise you to set it off, since to you wanna run an public ffa server. And it could be, that your UT Version is outdated ... make sure you use v3369. EDIT: I forgott to say: You'll need a "Standalone" version of the Teamspeak viewer if you don't got php support.

ZB is sometimes funny when he starts to criticize but it's become redundant, sometimes people aren't in the mood, when somebody asks a technical question he does it there. It's funny at times but only certain times
Okay we really need to get back on topic

If you can't get the querry number, that's a big problem ... The querry is one of the most important number, you'll need for the viewer.

I don't like the idea of KF becoming a competitional game. I got enough of that from BF2, WC3, CS, CSS and all the other hawt games. Rather like to think of clans helping out eachother with strats and just by being in the community. XPC has a big influence on KF, so clans help form the game.
Who knows, maybe KF gets other small addons/maps. example: Say maps where you can be up to 10-12 players (2 teams) completing objectives. Build the map so that you would need two teams to complete the objectives. Say one team gotta get to the bottom of some installation and do some h4xxing so that the other a door somewhere else in the facility opens and the other team can go through and retrieve something, or place charges for blowing up the building. When the blow-up team retreats the other team will close the door so the specimens wont get out and the blow-up team can get away safely. Now add attacks and stressed situations into this and you got an objective based map with lots of fun and sweat. hah, that got messy :S
Anyhow, a map like that could involve the cooperation of two clans.

Sorry to say that (You probably didn't notice), but the whole live is a single competition ... "AlienSwarm" is one of those Mods, which are really well done ... Hacking, welding, medical assistance, low- middle- and highclass-firepower ... last but not least: small skillpoint-system and marines for with special abilities and MANY more. At that game you can really say: With all those features it doesn't need a competition mode, cuz there are endless things to discover. But KF ... ... ... welding ... ... ... ... and some weapons .... inva-mode ... that's it ... that gamestyle REALLY needs some fresh new wind ... but as you explained it above, it just seems to me like an uncomplete AlienSwarm-Clone in 3D. However, Assault mode in KF would probably fit ... for some time. I thought about a whole campaign made in assault mode ...

I would love to do 2 team co-op, but the mod only allows up to 6 players.
What we can do is 3 from both teams at a time in different "Challenge maps" for example. You have to search in a very tricky setting to find certain items or unlock certain doors and at times the challenges call for major teamwork.

I absolutely see the possibility with 6 players too, even though 6 players is easy to get, and you wouldn't need to cooperate with another clan to pull it off. I guess that depends on the clans and how outsider friendly they are I see two possibilities for maps. If the objective is locating some items, or just do some stuff you know where is on beforehand (and finding it is half the job), the map would get very easy once you have done it once. So I see two sollutions to this: Random spawn locations of objective items, and generally make the mission random. I don't know anything about programming, but I think it will at least be very challenging to implement something like that. Other is making a map insanely hard, and add a little random factors, like types of enemies to spawn, maybe random power breakdowns (leaving, say the facility, in almost total darkness), and you could have the choice of restoring it. The random factors mostly for fun. Even if it would be unfair for a group who worked hard but failed partly due to power breakdown, where an other group had no power breakdown, i still think it's more important to make it fun, not fair. Making the map insanely hard would make it 'last longer' i think. Anyhow, I feel like i'm bitching about KF not being good enough, which is not the case Only want to add my thoughts to it. Making a series of coop maps following a storyline would be neat.

Never sat at an Assault Map before ... you really brought me up to it... But better lets set up a new Thread for that, before making that one messed up

Actually, random events would be really interesting... in a map like Biotics Lab and Grudge, the power could randomly go out and the team would have to fight toward the location where it could be repaired...
Tough to do right now, as the current hordes are nearly impossible to force back a lot of the time.
I agree, KF doesn't need to be competitive. Cooperation is the entire reason I followed this for so long.

I would love to see a KF-Assault-Map that is like the RE:1 "Hive" ... It would kick ass with cool mission objectives.
But I already got the trainmap I'm working on, so I ain't got enough time for another one now ... I'll do an assault one after it for sure!!! Dam, so many things to do, and not enough time & knowledge xD

Or a old building, floor panels that fall apart beneath you. Might leave a player all alone and the team have to get the guy out
