this is a thread only to give noobs an edge on 1.0 and hopefully 2.0
weapons so please post any tips here so noobs can last longer on servers by giving them 101 basics on meele weapons and ranged.

dullies are your friend, avoid the zombie and let'er rip. If you can avoid zombie keep up steady amount of fire using dullies! also shot gun is best for upclose, so run at them fire and run around them!

get a chainsaw for those pesky stalkers and clots just be sure to avoid using the chainsaw on the Gorefast because it cant stun him

Believe me theres no better feeling then shooting zombies with it in 2.0.

if you buy a shotgun go for the hunting shotgun shure you cant buy more ammo for it but its a devastaiting weapon it can put down the meanest of the infection

another devastaiting weapon is the handcannon this pistol can drop clots and stalkers like flies if you shoot them in the head

Headshots help with every weapon in 2.0. It multiplies the damage a bit (1.5 for most weapons, I think, 2 for the winch/xbow) and slows them down. It also prevents some zombies from using their special attacks, i.e. the Bloat can't vomit, the Siren can't scream, etc.

Dual pistols are handy as a backup, as the ammo capacity is amazing. Personally, my setup involves the Winchester, the Handcannon, the Dualies and a full bag o' grenades. The ammo will usually last you throughout the map, just leave one shot in each gun to use the auto ammo feature. Saves time.

And there's nothing wrong with the Bullpup... just works better scoped in and in short bursts. Have three people with them, don't move around, designate firing lines (so you don't wander into your friend's gunfire... even if it doesn't hurt, it blocks shots and is annoying and distracting), crouch, and move in short spurts. Concentrate fire on their torso to ensure maximum effect. For a large group, send out a grenade first to soften them up.

Most importantly, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS. It helps to build barricades, but remember, those work on YOU TOO.

Never forget health isn't instant, don't count on it to save your ass.

You need to stick together, even if you're good enough on your own, with your friends. It'll translate into better team play and survivability in 2.0

There is nothing wrong with throwing a weapon to a newcomer or someone with cash problems. In fact, doing it immediately forgives you of all sins, and makes you a hero. (Results may vary)

Also, and I'm guilty of this, don't pull a Vasquez unless Lt. Gorman's given up too. If you don't know what I'm talking about, WATCH ALIENS.
