I've always been an incredibly huge fan of co-op games, thats a pet peeve of mine, mix that with zombies in red-lighted levels and the whole open-environment thing... I recently download your mod (v1) and almost instantly fell in love with the frenzied human-on-zombie action. The weapons are great (I love the LAW), the screen distortion when under attack... it's all just great. My only problem was playing with the comps who couldn't execute the stunning battle strategies I proposed. I can't wait for the multiplayer. That'll be incredible! Oh, and you might want to make the knife a bit stronger, I ran out of ammo once and had to knife people... wasn't too easy...

Glad you like the mod yeah, we're still tweaking Melee damages , and in the finished product you will be able to "purchase" stronger weapons in between waves, so the Knife represents probably the weakest avaialable weapon. in the demo of course, it was just thrown in as a last fallback!

The thing about the bots, from what I understand, is if you're in the habit of ordering the bots around, and tell them what you want them to do, you're okay with how the bots work. The problem is that their default behavior seems to be a problem- they tend to go lone wolf unless you've somehow told them not to.

Ah, I see. I have them set for SUPPORT, so they basically start off covering my ass. To do that just hit the tab for changing the bot numbers (the dropdown that says 'Specify Number', Use Map Default, and Use Roster). Cllick 'Use Roster' and then the tab Bot Config in the upper right corner. There should be 2 bots on the red team. Click one and say Edit. Now you should be able to set his tactic preference to 'SUPPORT'. Did the trick for me.

Some People may have 2 Problems with the Bots. 1 is, They might malfunction(go "lone wolf") 2 is, They just dont feel like ur playing with another Human By ur side i go for #2 (bots are just made for training)

That's true, but I imagine if you want to get very far in the final game, you'll have to make good use of the bots, even if you don't want to.... I mean, 4 people is how many you need, and you'll have to fill the 4th person with a bot sometimes...
That's really why I want to improve control over bots, and ESPECIALLY get the entire AI to recognize barricades when it sees them.

Ah, That would be Some Sweet AI. But, 1 question couldint you just play the final game co-op. For Example Playing "story mode" (with co-op mode online?). That would be really cool You could make "Rooms" in Servers to where only 4 players play per Room, And Put the Rooms/Servers By Categories Of the Map(or level) that the game has. -Hope i didint confuse you .

There is no current plan for a storymode. If there is a storymode, though, (which there probably won't be), it will be multiplayer. KF is about a multiplayer co-op experience, but....
Here's the thing with story-modes: they're very, very difficult, long things to complete, and let's say you make 20 hours of playtime. Okay, cool. You just spent a year and a half to two years (that's how long it could take, working from where we are NOW) for twenty hours of gameplay. I predict that there will be some people who love KFDemo so much that the DEMO will be worth 20 hours of gameplay.
And any multiplayer experience we spend that one to two years on could provide HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay.
So a story mode would be really, really awesome. But really, really not worth our time.

Yeah i understand.
WHat i dont understand is, How is this going to go down. By that i mean If you have 4 bots in the Game, How Many other players can join in? Or..How is it lol.
Thats where i'm lost

On the UT server browser, it shows how many people are currently in the game- that is, real people. So someone joins the game up, and the game detects that there are too many bots about, and suicides one of them. The only issue is, "Oh, man. We totally bought that bot a lot of stuff" So maybe the players that were there at the beginning of the round get to split up a refund or something.
