I get around It was there though hard to understand, just made it easier to follow. I forget about the ingame irc. One feature I really liked in UT, don't know if Epic stuck it in 2k4 also, is if someone PMs you while you're playing it'll display the message for you ingame (like a regular say: message) and respond to the messenger what server (IP) you're playing on. You can't talk back to them ingame though, that's kinda what the autoresponse is for- to tell them where you are so they can join. Out of habit I always end up /quit 2k4 after I'm done before I realize I just closed irc also.

Aye I just loved that in JB where I used to chat with it in the jail.
I got an IRC client but I never really use it, I might start it..

I've been stuck using it for several years on four projects (2 diff teams). It's been a vital app for team communication in the one that actually uses it regularly. The other, mostly dependant on forums for the sake of documenting everything, isn't even half as productive and has 2x more ppl. There's a few non-dev related chans I (used to) hang out in which only ever get good once you become a regular and can understand the inside jokes.

You know this would be a good place for KF2 PUG Like the situation last night, there were 2 non-responsive dedi servers and one full server. The rest pw'd or high latency listens. You could see a bunch of ppl trying to get in the non-responsve ones (in playerlist w/ 1024 pings) so there was definately enough players at that time to fill another server. Or even in situations where the server is just killed (ex- host quitting listen) and dumps a bunch of ppl. If ppl used irc (which leaves a much smaller footprint than any IM app), from then on it's just a matter of determining who has the fattest pipe and starting a server.

Is there a IRC-Chan? I have to recruit Betatesters which is harder than I thought.
