Hello guys and gals i have not been on in a while! I finished Horzine Headquaters with a set of stairs. Only problem is for people was the zoning which i had problems with! Anyway, if any one has seen the film Resident Evil you may be aware of a building called "The Hive". I just so happened to watch this last night on DVD, and it enspired me to create a Killing Floor map just like that. I have not even started on UT Editor yet. but i will do soon. I was wondering if anyone could help me a bit with some decals on the level. And any ideas if anyone comes up with any. I think this map would be awsome to make if anyone has seen the film. I have been trying out 3D Studio Max 9 , but i just can not get used to it. I did however manage to create one static mesh with text writing in. I made some Paint picture for reference If you wanna use them its cool and if not alright. I had the same idea once but couldn't make it look good so I scrapped it. This is just one part theres more, Ill get some more done. The central room is around 1024x1024 but it could also be 2048x2048 for more space.

I love the idea with the huge pillars. The only problem i had with this map... is that it is meant to be HUGE! but you only get to see parts of it in the film! I really want to make that laser that chops things to shit show me more ... im hooked

I don't even know if a laser killing hallway is possibly in UEd, Maybe if you made a mover mesh that killed on contact. Gave it a Corana blue light and attached it to the mover than maybe. Heres a quick Main Lobby I just did.

hey KiCk3R... if u want to make this map like in the movie,it will take a year and this map it should be about 100 Mb or more

Hmm, on the one hand this really could become a fun map. Because of the sheer size of The Hive, however, you´d either have to let players spawn somewhere further inside the building or make it an advancing-type of map - like Tower.
On the other hand: If you make it Tower-like then there should be some kind of objective, something Horzine-related. In Resident Evil it was all about the Hive Queen, the virus and the anti-virus. If you match that with KF, what do you get ? Why would you run around in a huge underground laboratory ? How did you get in there? How did the specimen get in there ? Did you just happen to stumble upon this entry bulding with it´s own train (while running from the specimen), got in, they followed you and now you´re stuck?
What would be cool IMO is if you made it look like it happened after Resident Evil part 1, i.e. the whole building looking pretty f*ed up, licker tanks destroyed, some parts still being flooded, etc. Then it´d be some kind of homage to Resident Evil - but it´d also be a hell of a lot more work.

Maybe the story could go something like this: The DRF are stationed inside The Hive due to some disturbances earlier than Resident Evil 1. When the initial outbreak begins and the zombies start pouring in from every crevasse possible the player and his team must make it to the train to make it to the surface.

Another Possible story for the KF-Hive map! KF Hive story, before the incident in the Hive from the movie Alice head of Security of the Hive knows that umbrella has created the terrible T-virus that could wipe out the world population in a months “the T-Virus”, also Alice know that the Umbrella Corporation has sent a spy to their rival Company The BioTech corporation to steal a sample of there virus that they are creating and learn what information that they have. Now! We all know that days after the Horizon's funding was cut, private money was used to fund the Biotech new research and sample of there virus but days after the new organisation of funding something goes wrong and reports that the lab had been compromised. The Umbrella Corporation’s spy could have stolen the BioTech virus and information of the there specimens/ monsters created. Taken a few sample of the specimens and lets loses the rest of the specimens so the BioTech labs would become compromised. Alice has underground connections to the DRF Commandment of London and knows that the a DRF squad of marines tried too contain the compromised biohazard of the Biotech lab, due the release of the Umbrella Corps spy wrong doing down there! But DRF was unable to hold the crisis at the Biotech lab and had to retreat to safety but still remaining as a squad due there tactics and training that they have learnt. Months pass, then Alice (Head of the Security of the Hive) calls up for assistances of the DRF, as the Umbrella have combined the T-Virus with the Biotech Virus and start cloning of the Biotech specimens with the new virus. Umbrella had created even stronger specimens (the new specimens in the 2.11 patch) when the fail safe of security holding cells fail and all hell breaks loses! Reason the cell fail is that they are meant to stand up to the T-Virus infected zombie, not stand up too the strengths of the Biotech specimens. The DRF team head to the underground facility “The Hive” try and find Alice but find out via the Red Queen, that the Umbrella Corp have evacuated all of its lab/ security members and erased there memory’s. The Red Queen also tells the DRF squad that the Umbrella had set a automatic lock down as soon the DRF enter the Hive and are now Locked in until they destroy the newer specimens, now with more strength due to the combination of the Biotech virus and T-Virus. Thanks for all the feedback guys, i think this would be a huge success with an objective based game. ive already started on the "Loading train bay" I should think within the time limits i have, it should be ready for beta within 3-4 weeks. Because of the actual size "In movie" i will NOT create the whole map! This would take (as robot said) about a year to create! I do not have the knowledge of a objective based game, but i will look in-to the creation of it. This looks to be a creative, in demand map. However ... It will be keeping to KF guidelines! but looknig like resident evil very much i will post pictures soon, Stay tuned
