Might be useful for newbies. An extended FAQ in KF, but in the form of mapping. Since there are a few changes.
And also its annoying having to read through lots of threads, for the same answer in each.
Terrain wont work inside KF?
Some people say it wont work for them in KF, no developers confirmation yet.
NOTE: KF-KillyBillyBarn by Jeremiah uses Terrain, however this is a conversion. So the terrain was already there before he converted.
Level properties won't work?
There are 2 ways to fix this:
1) go into the .ini and change all x - and y-values that are bigger than your resolution (One time, I actually have to do this.)
2) switch your desktop-resolution to 1280x1024, move the window for the level properties upwards and leftwards, close the editor. Than switch back to your normal resolution.
How do I get songs working inside of Killing Floor?
Action song goes under KFMusicTrigger/CombatSong
Ambient song goes under MusicTrigger/Song.
must be in ut2004\kfmo20\music
must be *.ogg. Alphanumeric and no spaces in filename.
leave off file extension when entering properties
Try playing it in the built in player (F11). If it doesnt play then the ogg is encoded improperly.
you don't include the extension(.ogg) in the song. So for example, if I made my song, to be KFMenu.ogg , I would put in Combatsong "KFMenu" without the quotes(").
What you enter into the Combatsong and Song MUST be the title name of the song. NOT the track name. These are 2 different things. The titlename is the filename. (KFSIN6.ogg) for example. Open it up in winamp or some other program, and you will see that the text does not say "KFSIN6.ogg" . It displays the track name.
How do I place zombie spawns?
Unrelated UEd problems.
I added this part because I get so sick and tired of being asked this 30 times in a day. It is fun at first, and you feel pr0. But after awhile, it gets boring real fast.
My view-ports are all white!
Not going to describe why, but here is the fix. Open your editor up. At the top tool-bar, go in View > View-ports > Configure, and click any of the options and press OK. Default is the one on the furthest left. Blue = Perspective View-port.
My Music Browser won't work!
All music in ut2004 are .ogg's. And the editor does not support these. So this browser is completely useless and should never be used.
My editor seems to crash alot!
Poor you. The editor does sometimes crash for 'no apparent reason' . It mostly crashes while doing rebuilds on complicated levels, and while telling it to do things it shouldn't be doing. UEd is gullible. If you tell it to open a texture package that isn't there, it will try and open it. Be careful, the editor will crash less when you know its limitations and what you are doing with it.
Ahh! Half of my level has disappeared! And when I try to play it in-game I get an HOM effect.

Who is the UEd G0bl1n?
*sigh*
My editor is very bright! How can I change this?
The editor goes by your ut2004 brightness. But it is easy to change. Simply add "-nogamma" at the end of the target, in the shortcut you use to open up UEd.
Add your own questions, and if answered I will modify this post to include them.

About the level-properties: I looked at the problem and the non-show is most likely caused by the placement of the window. Using Alex's kfmod20user.ini, the editor saves the position of the windows in there. I guess Alex might have a pretty big resolution becuase I found the menu on the bottom of my screen nearly out of range (my desktop resolution is 1280x1024)There are 2 ways to fix this:

You do it via volumes. you simply get your red builder brush, to be the size of the zombie spawn, just how you would like it to be. And then on the left hand toolbar, go down and click on volumes, and then click on ZombieVolume.Unrelated UEd problems.
