Hello everyone. Just signed up for the forums. Some of you may know me from servers. So i came by to get some ideas from everyone for my first ut2k4 map, which is in progress. I've got most of it done, but need to add a bunker and maybe another defense point. Its the remains of a town in hell, more or less. Was kinda inspired by DM-Inferno, but its nothing like that though. Its a remains of a town or whatever is left of it on a rock over the pools molten lava. Almost everything is destroyed except you and your comrades. So what will you do? Stay there and accept your defeat or fight it until the end? After all, which death to take is your choice. You wont be remembered, but YOU know that you tried not for yourself, but for the others. So what would you like to be included and a fair warning to those lower end PC Users; this map is NOT made by a professional. I've got a Nvidia 5500(which is quite low end today). I'm sorry, but this is the stupidest idea for a KILLING FLOOR map, that I've ever heard of/seen.
It'd be great for vanilla 2k4, but not KF.

Well they are zombies, no? everyone says zombies, game says specimens. So why.. not? I don't get it.
And what in the world is vanilla ut2k4 i cant find that mod or mutator.
I can always change the setting(and i would like some ideas on that), but i favor the map itself more than its setting. I wanted that ominous and "damn, what the f*** do we do now" feeling when you start out. Please i need constructive criticism, and its not playable yet, but it runs fine. And the map layout is complete it just needs some more filler material to make it look nice. Also my other motivation was my annoyance with most maps not being able to fall off a very high place and those really annoying invisible blocks which just always get in your way.
btw do antiportals only work for bsp or static meshes too?

Vanilla Ut2k4 is default storebought Unreal Tournament 2004. Just because something is a zombie, doesn't mean it's got something to with hell. It looks cool, but it just doesn't look right for KF. And Kyben, nice quote.

I can't name one game, movie , show, whatever that relates zombies to hell. It was meant to go hand in hand with the whole waves of zombies and blood and survival to a red and fiery place, not particularly hell. but thats the closest description. Anyways putting that aside, what environment setting do YOU think would fit this map?

Anyways putting that aside, what environment setting do YOU think would fit this map? Well, since you have a scattered town on a rock look. I'd say go with an abandonded town with overgrown foilage or something; sort've like the island in Battle Royale, if you've ever seen it.

The game isn't ABOUT zombies. It's about goverment created weapons that escape basically. Everyone on the forum SAYS they are zombies because they can't accept the fact some one thought up of a new idea for a monster game. People are too close minded, they want another zombie game, but this isn't one, not anymore, earlier versoin (1.0) was based on that, but it's now switched to some thing more, different, with the plot of them being goverment created weapons, there are more open ended ways to make them first off, as'well as a more POSSIBLE theory.
People on the forum that say it's zombies = wrong Game that says Specimens = right Creator of the mod who says they are Specimens = more right then both.

I just say zeds b/c it's quicker. We all KNOW they are specs. And besides, is'nt a zombie simply someone who doesn't respond to their surroundings properly?

Ok... that sorta helps. Not really. I have an idea. can we stick to the original topic here? i need help. ;D I will finish this one up and get everything working. Then I will take it and create a more fitting scenario, one thats more "suited" to YOUR perspective. Some like red more than others, but I will try. UnrealEd is difficult, nor can i find any satisfactory tuts. Making static meshes is a pain, cause lo and behold it doesn't support much of anything. I'm going to have to tweak around with the ONLY blender exporter. Do anti portals affect static meshes and BSPs? How do you texturize imported models properly? Is the terrain editor only a height map editor? (i think it is) EDIT: Ok, here it is. Please don't download too much or my ISP will start betting b**chy. Its in 7zip format for those who dont know. The zombies work, and everything look dandy. but have not tested it in full capacity.

Use them wisely. 2)UV Maps(3rd Party Editor) or within the Static Mesh Browser(select your smesh, at the bottom, there is some properties you can change.) 3)No, The terrain editor is a flimsy piece of shit I hate using. But it's decent nonetheless.
